Why do people think Perkins is hitting the portal?

Was rumored here, on twitter people keep bringing it up. Seems like it would be an odd move for the young man

Not sure why he would stay if House stays. I'm sure he loves playing mlb and dropping into coverage then taken out when they go dime

He is extremely talented and we are wasting his talents so you can see how his inner circle would want him to transfer to a portal with a better defensive Coaching staff.

His stats from last season and this season were almost identical only 2 less sacks this season.

Its not about "stats." He is not and will not be an every down pass rusher. He does not have that size.

It’s typical distortion that happens when communications are passed on through multiple conduits.
In this case, Perkins was out with the baws enjoying the break between the end of regulars season and the bowl game.
One thing thing lead to another and as they were passing a job site, Perkins thought it would be funny to use the port-o-johns as tackling dummies and began running and hitting them to knock them over.
As the story was repeated, this predictably morphed into ‘Perkins hitting the portal’…
In this case, Perkins was out with the baws enjoying the break between the end of regulars season and the bowl game.

Some guy posted that a big name would be hitting the portal soon. Some folks here assumed it was in reference to Perkins, but the original poster definitely stated that it was related to CFB in general. He never said anything about LSU specifically. Essentially, it was such a generalized post, he was bound to be right.

It happened last year as teams came after him hard and Gordon stepped in with a John Deer NIL. This year more of the same but now after extra ammunition. Why stay around at LSU and play on a poorly coached and scheme defense. Can come play for us a be a star instead of playing out of position and talents are wasted.
Lane wants him bad.
People need to realize the Defense this year was absolutely abysmal. It has a big impact on players and their future. Perkins transfers and shows out, his NIL skyrockets and draft stock. Play another year under House and impact stays the same.
