Anyone miss Baton Rouge after moving away?

I’ll be heading out Sunday to move to Spring Texas following my wife’s new job and transferring with my current company. As I’m wrapping up my current roll and saying goodbye to folks that I’ve known for the past 12 years it kinda makes me realize I’ve had a good time the last 12 years here and met a lot of good folks.

You call that moving away? You’re not even 5 hours down the road.

Les Miles has lost control of your judgement if you’ll miss BR.

I moved away for 2 years to take care of my Dad. I really missed it. I can still only live in BR about 1/3 of the time these days. I’m always happy to get back there.

I moved from BR to Miami. With the exception of gameday weekends I did not miss it at all.

There are a lot of good people around here. Not a comment on the area in general necessarily.

I miss the Baton Rouge of the 80’s when I lived there but I don’t believe I would miss the Baton Rouge of today.
The same could be said for New Orleans of the 70’s and 80’s.

The only thing you will miss is easy access to LSU games if you are into that but as for the city in general hell naw you won't miss it

This will be another thread filled with people who left Baton Rouge who will consistently remind you how happy they are elsewhere.
So happy in fact that they spend most their time on a message board to let you know it.
ETA: I’m not from nor do I live in BR. Just an observation.

There was a time.
That time was a long time ago.
Almost everyone I know with the mobility to leave the state in general say the only reason why they don’t is because of family.

Of my youth - some 50 plus years ago - absolutely....now? No thank you.

I stayed for a year after graduation. It made me realize I loved LSU, not Baton Rouge.
