And this one:

72 times out of 159 attempts (.453) our opponents converted on 3rd down.

Daniels is the answer both years.

House’s year 1 defense was not very good. It just wasn’t a dumpster fire yet.

Hate to ruin your narrative but HP’s stats—tackles, sacks, etc.—were virtually identical in 2023 to 2022.

You don’t want to hear it, but if you deliberately don’t play your best players, you might be TRYING to prevent winning. Too much betting money in sports today. Human nature.

CBK is choosing to remember the year one version for year three. On paper, House looks like a good guy for the job

So you have confirmation that House is returning?

Eh, part of the reason, JD wasn't what is now but he carried the team in a few games as well. However, House was reasonably good, and had this year's defense been as good as last year LSU may be playing in Atlanta this weekend.

BK may want to keep House but if he has any kind of pulse on the LSU fanbase then he knows what he needs to do or it won't be pretty.

The honeymoon is over.

Who do they have coming in next year that can improve the defense?

Anyone using Perkins as an argument for firing House is clueless. You can criticize a lot of things but it's as if none of you watched the last 3 games from last year. Perkins did nothing. Teams figured out what he was doing and schemed for it. He has impacted the game in multiple ways this year. I'll trust the guy who has built a winning program everywhere he has coached. If the defense looks the same next year then yes he needs to go. If they keep House then they need to make some changes in position coaches and need to recruit some solid Dlinemen.

You have to recruit well to take the next step. We’re not doing that.
It's come full circle.. can't coach so you can't get top recruits but if you were a good recruiter you could get better players that could possibly hide some of the coaching shortcomings.. guys are decommiting BK needs to do something NOW to salvage what he can from this recruiting cycle

Misleading, he was a freshman last year for one, and second he didn’t play as much in the beginning of the season. I still think HP had a good year but considering expectations based on last year it was a disappointment.

BK did not come all this way for the goal of 9-10 wins and good to pretty good teams. He had that at ND and realized he was being held back.
He is rebuilding LSU to being more than a flash in the pan, which is what our last 2 coaches provided. Our defense was not “we got close but had some tough breaks.” It was unquestionably bad and not something you’d make some tweaks to and “run it back.”
My guess is he will make meaningful changes to the staff, bring in some more experienced players, coach up the young guys and put us in a position to at minimum stop teams.

If he runs this shite back, he’s in for a long year and a lot of deserved criticism. He will have few excuses to lean on in that case

That and not putting a spy on Milroe. Just about every fan knew we should do it, and Kelly admitted later that we should’ve done it.

Greg Brooks played vs Florida St and made four tackles.

Interesting, Speights had eight tackles in the Fl St game.
Wonder what changed for him to disappear the rest of the season.
Was he injured?
