You want A&m to fire Lucci???

No. They can’t. He doesn’t work for A&M officially. But, the program/University can support him, or marginalize him, in a variety of ways.

Liucci is being perceived as somewhat of an insider by national sports media. So, when he irresponsibly starts unfounded rumors during a high profile coaching search, it hurts the program and embarrasses the University.

If Liucci wouldn’t have prematurely “reported” the Stoops hire, this wouldn’t all look like a dimpster fire when the deal fell through — nobody’s ever know.

Did he tho?

He was the first to bring up Stoops as a candidate. He said the deal was close but not at the finish line. The viral reaction from the fanbase and boosters changed the situation. The Kentucky side was actually first with public info day this is likely happening. Looch confirmed it from the A&M.

Luicci was being given the info by certain aggie boosters who didn't want stoops. He reported it at their behest to create a fan backlash before the ink landed on paper

What’s interesting is that Stoops name was never mentioned by Liucci until the 11th hour.

He didn’t. The leaks started from Kentucky media after Stoops began to let people know, and the “Thank you, Coach Stoops” tweets started from the UK contingency.

And another A&M site was actually the first to report it on the TAMU end of things. TexAgs/Liucci just responded after it was obvious the word was out.

Yes. He did. Just about every day for the last week or so, he’s posted/said publicly one high profile name after another. They can’t all be right. And he can’t be THAT well informed by anonymous sources about a hiring process covered by NDA’s.

And I’m damn sure I read somewhere that Kentucky side sourced their info about all this from Liucci.

Billy has survived a lot of athletic directors. He’s not going anywhere. Bjork will be somewhere else in short time anyway and Billy will just build a relationship with the next one.

It’s a hell of a lot more exciting than anything that happens on the field for our fanbase

Honestly the build-up and “hype” for yesterday’s game was weak compared to previous LSU/A&M games. I couldn’t talk shite to my Aggie friends because they’re more invested in the coaching search. Looking at Texags during the week, that feeling seemed to be the consensus among Aggie fans l.

Looch is a fricking retard. He is the embodiment of everything aggy. He knows about as much as me about who they are hiring.

It feels like they are gonna go through what most schools go through with the search. They’ll get a good coach and he will go 7-5 and that will be ok for 3 or 4 years and this will all start over.

Who did he throw out? You don’t really seem to know what has been going on.

And you’re wrong about UK. They shared their info because Stoops was telling people he was gone.

A&M needs to throw a blank check at Urban Myer. Being able to rub CUM in Texas’s face is the only way to save their dignity at this point.

A&M needs to just hire an up and comer for reasonable money. Don’t pay the big contract until the coach earns it. Novel idea, I know

Maybe I don't know what has been going on ... it's possible. But .....

Didn't he throw out Ryan Day?
Didn't he throw out Brian Kelly as an A&M candidate? And THEN as a Michigan candidate?

And, it's not like I'm just making all this up (like Liucci seems to be doing). I can at least cite a source for what I'm saying.

"Throughout the week, credit to TexAgs’ Executive Editor and Co-Owner Billy Liucci, who has continued to drop several “nuggets” regarding potential names Texas A&M Athletic Director Ross Bjork has and will pursue in the coming days.

Earlier this week, Liucci revealed that Ohio State head coach Ryan Day remains a candidate for the position despite being a long shot to leave the Buckeyes, especially if Ohio State were to lose to Michigan on Saturday. Now, after his most recent update, one surprising name has emerged late, as Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops enters the race, which was further confirmed by ESPN CFB insider Pete Thamel and The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman on Saturday morning."

It's pretty telling how Lucci is having to get his info from UK insiders about the hire don't you think? Not sure what you expect A&M to do publicly but it appears he's been cut off from his "inside sources".
I'm not convinced that's how this all came out.
