DeSantis was an idiot for taking this debate. Democrats are already looking for an excuse to replace Biden with Newsom and this will throw gas on the fire. Even if Newsom doesn’t handle that nerd DeSantis, the corporate press will say he did and show Dems and moderates highlights that suggest he did. And, of course, slick talking bag of shite Newsom is one of the few Dems that can talk the moderates into giving them 4 more years of the presidency.
In all honesty, it would probably be better if DeSantis backed out now. Sure, he would look like a spineless pussy, but he pretty much already looks that way after his debate performances.

Exactly. No compass or direction, just a desire to be important. My biggest problem with Trump and his leeches is they run their mouth but don't have the ability or the will to follow through and execute.

DeSantis only has to point to the scoreboard of his success in Florida compared to Gavin's destruction of SF and now CA, and highlight the hubris of a man with such a track record of failure that now wants to run the entire nation.
Gavin would literally give the nation to Mexico and China while taking away every freedom and every kernel of economic prosperity from American citizens, and then tell us what a great job he'd done for the country. He would force everyone into masks and shutdowns while dining in 5-star restaurants with neither a mask nor any other restriction. He would trample on the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th, and 10th amendments - at a minimum.
This is the guy that just brazenly admitted that he could have cleaned up SF all this time but chose not to do so until the leader of China came to town.
When Americans suffer he stands by and when the opportunity presents itself, he adds to their suffering. But when the leader of China comes to town, he jumps into action. People like Gavin are why you see governments become evil enemies of their own people.
