Elko would have been received negatively on Texags?
That seems not representative.

this wouldnt have happened and it would have been ultimately accepted but saying wed have been happy with elko or leipold is a stretch
Maybe Brian Kelly would've been better?

Matt Jones now saying that Stoops is staying at Kentucky.

No, I don’t think Saban or Urban would have a winning conference record at Kentucky. Of course they’d have winning conference records at Florida and Georgia where they would have open checkbooks to hire whomever they want as far as players and staff. Kentucky football isn't Florida or Georgia
This is an insane take. You can't tell me that Saban or urban wouldn't be able to consistently go 5-3 in the east in the past 15 years at Kentucky with their cross divisional opponent being Mississippi State.

It’s nothing compared to when Tennessee revolted against the Schiano hire. They had him on a plane with a signed contract and still backed out after their fans literally took to the streets to protest.

Holy shite what a turnaround if true. Someone must have told Bjork “frick no” and not signed off on the deal

so what. There are plenty of big money donors, who don’t play around on TexAgs all day.

None of this tracks with what has been discussed since this board opened, but I'll bite.
Who would most people be happy with? The guy who is having his first good season as HC, lost to Mississippi State, and didn't know the OT rules against USC?

Aggie probably lowballed him

He wasn’t on a plane to Knoxville, no contract had been signed by anyone at the university, and like 50 people showed up at gate 21 at Neyland to protest.

you can call it dumb all you want. fisch had the support of the fanbase. elko didnt. he would have been accepted unlike stoops, but he was not a popular option by a long shot

It really only matters if the Kentucky people are saying that he is staying. The story got legs because they said they thought it was happening. I rely on that denial to keep the rumor from growing.
That’s a lot more impactful than whether people on TexAgs are crying.
