I buy all my rubs from this guy at our local farmers market. They are terrific and I get very specific and different ones for different proteins. He has one that is absolutely perfect for smoked turkey. Unfortunately the packaging for all his rubs all look alike other than the name on the label. My dumbass grabbed the Bourbon BBQ Rib Rub instead of the one I intended. Didn’t realize it until bird was already on the smoker and I was cleaning up the kitchen from my prep. I have ruined Thanksgiving and I’ll never forgive myself. I have let down my wife, my children, and the entire Tigerdroppings meat smoking community. Please have mercy on my soul.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. As much as we all bitch at each other on this site, I am truly thankful for the information, knowledge, and entertainment I get from interacting with each of you. Hope you all have a safe and happy time with your families.

You'll actually remember the frick ups more fondly than all the routine stuff, and so will the rest of the family. Have a good one.

Yeah man let it ride. You are smoking the bird. Keep it moist and you are going to find out that was a nice change up and will taste great.

You could have quickly pulled it off and wash it.

If that’s anything close to the BBQ rib rubs I use, I’d prefer that on my turkey than the usual turkey seasonings. BBQ turkey sounds legit. Might have to do that next year

You think you have problems?

My driver stubbed his right toe and now I have to drive myself to my parents for Thanksgiving.

Do what the rest of the first world does. Take no responsibility. Blame it on him for the packaging. Post it online about how your family and thanksgiving is ruined. Congrats, you are officially a victim.

Calm down Francis. I know it will likely be just fine. Just a different flavor profile than what I usually do. FYI.. the main and most important part of my post was the really just to say Happy Turkey Day to everyone. And that goes to you as well. I truly hope you and your family have a wonderful day.

Isn’t it, though. Why not a typical Asian massage place? Hipsters

Throw yourself off the MS River Bridge.

But before you do, post pics of boat, wife, and smoker.

Says the person who starts a thread about “ruining thanksgiving”.

Tone and sarcasm isn’t always easily conveyed over text. Happy thanksgiving to you. Your bird will taste fine.
