The Ford Mach-E, for example, is $500 cheaper per month and nearly $7,500 cheaper per year versus a comparable gas-powered vehicle. And the Tesla Model Y, which has been the best-selling EV in America since its introduction, is $425 cheaper per month or more than $5,000 cheaper per year compared to its gas-powered equivalent.

Is leasing the answer to avoid the OT boogeyman of the $40k EV battery replacement that happens every 6 months?

It's the same as with a gas vehicle. Yes, if you want a new car every 2-3 years, leasing can be a viable option.

Hidden cost: Mot EV's are very expensive to insure versus an ICE vehicle. They get totaled easily and collision parts are not always readily available. Just ask any Tesla owner.

Can you lease them for 84 months? If not that eliminates your average US car buyer.

The IRA introduced a new $7,500 tax credit for leased EVs last year, and when dealers pass this credit through to new car buyers, they reduce lease payments and increase driver savings.

Why did you leave out this part?

What is the range of said vehicles? Because if I need to charge every 200 to 300 miles they are worthless to me.

Link says with IRS tax credit. Also says dealers must pass that on for it to be cheaper. Dealers won’t, of course, because consumers will pay more than $7500 for the $7500 tax credit. If this weren’t the case in my area we would have 2 mavericks and a Pacifica in the driveway as we speak. Have tried to buy them, dealers either get the tax credit or the vehicle costs $7500 at least more than MSRP.

Also leasing is insanely expensive for anyone who puts more than about 15,000 miles on a vehicle a year. Link also does not mention. This at all. And that’s how anyone not trying to get something for nothing knows EVs and Hybrids are snake oil…because the entire truth is not forthcoming and sleights of hand are always used to make them seem like a good idea.

I don't see any mention of tires. EVs chew through tires. I bought a LEAF for my wife because she has bad luck with cars breaking down and I was sick of dealing with it. 2014 model, bought used in 2016 for $12k. Still has original battery. But damn I've got to put a 3rd set of tires on it and my wife drives like a granny. 50,000 miles on it and it's only worth $2000 on trade in.

What are the gas powered counterparts?

Austin Martin's? They use the most expensive cars they could find for the comparison?
