No you wouldn’t.
you’ve seen none in your whole life but you have that much anger towards the topic?
Sounds like an anger and brainwash problem.
And I’m the POS. Each day this place exposes how terrible humans really are.

I’ve been fortunate in my 15 year career to have zero pitbull attacks. And my sister, 18 years in the ER has zero. Not that they don’t happen in New Orleans, it’s just even a statistic worth debating with people.

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating the death of a 13-month-old baby boy from the Pontchartrain Park neighborhood who was attacked by a dog.
New Orleans police responded to a call around 6:46 p.m. on Monday in the 5500 block of Seminary Place. The toddler was identified by the coroner as Apollo Duplantis. According to NOPD, the toddler was attacked and killed by the family dog.

A 7-year-old girl died after dog attack in Louisiana, dog owner faces charges

The above headline pops up at least once or twice each year around the country. Mia was a four-year-old girl who was attacked and killed by her own family dog in March 2014. Many are shocked by these types of recent stories of pit bull attacks in Louisiana. Dogs bite about 4.5 million Americans every year, half of which are children under nine (9) years old.
Not a chance I’d be willing to take.

It’s all fun and sweet until the baby startles the pit bull.
He beats the shite out her face. He’ll deserve whatever he gets. We’re raising men again in this country.
On a serious note I worried about that at first, you know, even though I know her better than any human, I still was cautious she’d get jealous, because she’s obsessed with me and it’s actually been the opposite, I’m jealous of their relationship. It’s the most incredible feeling to watch though. She’ 7 so hopefully I get her another 7 and he’ll really get to know before her time is up.

I will, just enjoying the two greatest things in my life falling in love with each other. Melts my heart.
You come across as one who is both mature and aware of this breed’s nature.
And just based on the initial pictures you provided, I would bet the dog (and the sweet baby) are surrounded by a lot of love.
I know there is a lot to be said about nature vs nurture, my concern was more so about young children and their own impulsivity and a dog misreading it as aggression towards them.
You seem to have it under control.
I wish y’all the best.

It’s Sunday and beautiful outside so that’s why you decided to gaslight this board?
You’re so obsessed with showing others your trash dog is not violent that you’d take a picture of your own kid for all the internet to see. Congrats, you played yourself.

Cool story. You found one in New Orleans and it doesn’t say pitbull. Also I said they happen. Pitbulls/attacks….again not worth debating.
Worry about something more important. This world is full of it.

Odd, but you’re so obsessed with attacks, you’re now angry it wasn’t a thread you couldn’t express all that anger and hatred. You’re right I played myself.

Dude I work with did the same thing. He actually posts here and is probably reading this.
His daughter, who is 4 or 5 took a nap with the family pit and it attacked her face. She needed like 100 staples and is now permanently disfigured.
I hope your situation goes better, but as a dad, not interested in that dice roll.

I had highly trained therapy dogs that I never let get in a kids face EVER.
...as my trainers taught me... highly trained or not...they are still DOGS. One ear pull or tail pull or squeeze of their face could set them off. Be very, very careful. Cute or not, I cannot stress how horrible the horror stories I have heard are..especially babies in swings that set off a dogs chase instinct while the parent is in the shower or working in the yard..

It does happen.
Sorry for your buddy and his girl.
If it happens I’ll just blame it on the lab side of her and really rile tOT up.

Pitbull or not, I would never let a dog that close to a baby.
