What if Kelly decides to keep House on as linebacker coach, which was House’s area of coaching at Kentucky?

It’s the buddy system at play here. The more these coaches talk, sounds like friendship trumps quality coaching sometimes.

BK did respond to a question regarding MH and his response was something like now is not the time to discuss it. I don’t know what else you would expect him to say. At that time there were three more games to play. I would be willing to bet that MH will not be at LSU next season.

Another thread of this crap.

House isn’t coming back. Kelly isn’t changing anything until after the season. Kelly is not on the hot seat so he doesn’t need to make an in season sacrifice to calm the idiot masses.

Just let it play out. House will be an assistant in the NFL next year and we will have a revamped defensive staff.

I personally believe the defensive problem is talent. Last year when the talent was better no one was upset about House. However, this year, with less talent, everyone wants his head. He has been successful everywhere he has coached with talent. Just my opinion.

Literally no one here is denying the talent issue.

But House has done nothing to make the players better. He doesn’t put players in the best position to be successful. His schemes make no sense.

Just look at Alabama. He literally only had to stop 1 player and that player was not Cam Newton. His defensive game plan that night and refusal to adjust is the #1 reason we lost.

This is another problem. You say it’s lack of talent. Well we have to recruit talent and it sure seems like he is failing at that too.

“ He has been successful everywhere he has coached with talent”…

“Prior to his arrival at LSU he was a Defensive Coordinator for 5 seasons at Pitt, FIU and UK. Beginning in 2013 his defenses were 61, 78, 81, 57, 54 & 15th of 130 defenses in the country.”

I think the position coaches have more impact on the recruits and the lack of development on the defensive side. Look at who is coaching CB’s, safeties and the DL didn’t have a real DL coach. We don’t have the staff to develop anyone.

I'd take Daronte Jones, Blake Baker, and the baws from the 2021 defensive staff over this shite show.

You might be right as well. And I agree, nothing was really shown this year to show progress in any way. It’s just hard to read at the moment, but if BK really means what he says with “Not having time” then this next move on the defensive side of the ball is a monumental hire.

Lots of folks want to get rid of our offensive coordinator last season. Wonder what happened?

“ Offensive Coordinator Mike Denbrock is a nominee for the Broyles Award, which goes to the top assistant coach in the country.”

I personally think Kelly would like to keep House, but I guarantee you, not one single fan is more upset about the play of our defense than Brian frickin Kelly.

The defense has played better since the Ole Miss game, but you cant go around setting yards and points allowed records and expect to keep your job at LSU.

The Alabama game was the one where if House was going to save his and the rest of defensive staff's job, then we had to make some stops. The only stop the defense made was nullified by that horseshite horse-collar.

Instead our Defensive staff let Milroe go all Jayden Daniels on us, and that certainly could have been, if not prevented at least mitigated. Instead we made no adjustments whatsoever, and just let him run all over us.

When it comes right down to it, these coaches are hired and fired based on results. When your results are the worst ever somewhere, the reasons or excuses take a back seat to the fact that you've done something here at LSU that few have ever done before.

Compounding the issue is that if we were even middle of the road, or frick even bottom third, LSU is contending for a championship. This defense has wasted an incredibly special performance by JD5 and the entire offense. Wasted.

It's inexcusable. I'm sure Kelly will make sure House lands on his feet somewhere, but at this point I'd have a hard time retaining any of the defensive staff, Lindsay's health issues aside. It'd be one thing if House were being retained, but if House goes there may be a clean sweep on that entire side of the football.

It's not like they haven't earned it.

BUT if I’m looking at the situation objectively, I see an argument to give him one more year.

Let’s get a little perspective here.

Let’s say we had the worst defensive talent in the SEC. As well as worse defensive talent than half of the big 10, PAC 10, Big12, and ACC.

That would be what, about 35 teams with better defensive talent - which I don’t think is true. But if it was true- you could understand if we rank about 40th in defense nationally.

Yet we rank about 100th out of 130 teams in most defense stats.

That is coaching. Not talent.
