Around my cool area under our patio outside, mosquitoes gather every night and throughout the day. Is their any chemical that can be sprayed on walls that would alleviate them?

From DoMyOwn

quote:

With mosquito control you want to not only be sure that the foliage on your trees and ornamentals are taken care of by maintenance and spraying, but that any standing water no matter how small is either eliminated or treated with a larvicide so the breeding cycle in the mosquitoes can be disrupted.
Talstar P is one of our most recommended products for mosquito control. It will keep down the population even if your neighbor doesn't do the yard maintenance that you do.

I spray Talstar P all over the exterior walls on my patio. It seems to do a good job.

Does it dry clear or does it leave a residue behind?

They didn’t seem to have any affect on my mosquito problem. I was disappointed after hearing how great they were supposed to be.

I sprayed Talstar P earlier and my patio looks like a mosquito graveyard. Sprayed all of my walls, doors and french doors. No residue left on anything. Spraying garage walls next to rid of pesky spider webs.

Those Spartan traps don’t work. I wanted to believe. Used them for two summers. Couldn’t tell a difference.

Worked great for me. Need a big yard though. Hang them at least 100’ away from where you’ll normally be. I understand that it’s essentially yeast in a tube. Add warm water and it produces C02, which attracts mosquitoes

In a time release quantity so small that it does nothing. I wanted them to work, too.

Spray Talstar/Bifenthrin on EVERYTHING around your house, once a month/every other month, with the exception of flowering bushes (it will kill bees). And I mean everything. Walls, soffit, ceilings, lawn, shrubs and trees (under leaves also). There won't be any bugs, much less mosquitos. It'll take a couple applications to be "mosquito free", but there will be a significant reduction after the first one. And reapply after a few rain events.

Just purchased some Talstar P and will apply next week.

Will it keep away wasps and dirt daubers as well?

It does leave a white powedery residue. I have white siding on my carport so you can’t see it but you can see it when I get it on the windows. Blends into the brick so it’s negligible there.

Like others have said, Talstar P.

Do not do this. Bees aren’t the only pollinator out there and flowers aren’t the only place they land. You are wrecking what little ecosystem you have by blanket spraying. There are a ton of spiders/predatory bugs that eat things like mosquitos in the lawn, trees, shrubs, etc. Talstar P is effective because it kills everything, good or bad. Use it, but limit where it’s used.

If you want to spray for mosquitos, target where they are. Spray where mosquitos are hiding from the open wind. Between walls and furniture, small nooks and crannies. That is where you will be most effective. The biggest spots for me is between my trash can and wall, behind my outdoor fridge, and between my patio furniture and wall.

I’ve never noticed any residue. If you see residue, I’d make sure you are mixing the right amount.

Will Suspend SC do just as good a job as Talstar P? I still have some from spraying around the house perimeter, soffits, windows, doors, etc. It seems to do a great job on spiders, centipedes, roaches and more. But for some reason we still have some mosquitoes on our small covered front porch hovering around our front door and large planters with fake plants. I think I might just spray the entire porch walls, ceiling, metal front door and the planters and fake plants with Suspend SC and give that a try. If it is doesn't work I can switch to Talstar P for my exterior DYI bug spraying.
