Pels are waiting till All star break? He will be able go wherever he wants for his available max, right? Is griffin avoiding 4 top heavy contracts?

He’s a dinosaur in a league that doesn’t value dinosaurs so JV doesn’t have much leverage here. I would imagine Griff wants him to remain an expiring contract for potential trades. If they don’t trade for a center I think JV will be back. He likes the team and the city and he’s not going to find a better combination of pay and potential to win.

I wouldn’t mind bringing back JV for like 7-8 million/ year on like a 2 year deal. He’s not a starting center anymore but you can still throw him out there for 12-15 minutes and let him go to work in the post. That’s worth like 7 million.

I think Larry is the one that needs to be moved, he does not look good. I would try to turn him and Kira into Gafford.

That gives us an offensive center in JV and a defensive center in Gafford

This is one of the dumbest things I've read on this board.

All things considered, he's still worth a 2/25-30mil. A plus offensive player who can give you a 12/8 in 20mins

He's the big that bangs with the embiid, jokic, nurkic that you don't have an option otherwise.

Lots of teams that need a center would do so.

He’s non restricted and a solid center. I was leaning on the rule “don’t get rid of a possible trade option. “ I see him signing with a returning large market favorite for a similar contract as his current if we miss.

One of the only real pros on the team you can count on to be out there and give his all every night. I hope they re-sign Jonas.

No playoff team is spending their entire MLE on JV. Most playoff teams have been reluctant to even spend the full MLE on anyone because that locks you into not going above the first apron.

If you’re a non playoff team you’re still not spending a ton on him, and he’s not the piece that will make you a contender. Like I said, his best combination of pay and winning potential will be to take what the Pels give him.

Jonas is too consistent for our team. He really needs to miss at least 30 or so games a year if he is gonna be a pel.

He’s not a starting center anymore
Why do people say this?

He's easily a starting center in the NBA. You can't name 30 centers or come close to 30 centers better.

You can't use the defense excuse either as we were the 6th best defense in the NBA last season with Val as our starting center.

He's gone. He'll get paid by someone who values his skillset and will put it to good use. We clearly don't.

Still people shitting on Jonas no matter that he comes to play every night and at times can carry the team when needed. I just can’t understand why so many people don’t like a guy that plays every game hurt or not on a team where a stubbed toe keeps guys out 6 weeks.

All things considered, he's currently the 15th highest paid center.

Top 20 center pay:
1. Jokic
2. Embiid
3. Gobert (albatross)
4. Davis
5. Ayton (albatross)
6. Adebayo
7. KAT
8. Lopez (24mil)
9. Capela (22.94mil)
10. Turner (20.45mil)
T11. Vucevic (20.0mil)
T11. Allen (20.0mil)
13. Poeltl (19.5mil)
14. Nurkic (17.5mil)
15. Valanciunas (15.067mil)
16. Robinson (15mil)
17. Reid (13.986mil)
18. Wembanyama (rookie deal)
19. Gafford (13.394mil)
20. Adams (12.6mil)

He's a fine regular season center. He is not a playoff caliber center, he shouldn't get more than 20 minutes per game in most playoff matchups.

He's 18 and 14 career per36 in the playoffs.

His net rating is -0.3, so mostly negligible, certainly not what people are suggesting.

Nothing of what people are saying is actually the case on the court. All we've heard for 2 seasons is how we can't have a good defense with him, and we had a darn near elite defense with him just last season.

Like stated above, I think Griff keeps his options open at trade deadline. If we do not deal him, I could see him getting 2/$18 or 2/$20 to stay.

Seriously delusional. He's not coming back for anything less than 15 a year. The idea that he'd sign for 9-10 mil is comical at best.
