With playoffs off the table why not fire house now?

USC has already begun the search.

What exactly are we saving by letting him stay on staff? Is there a financial incentive to keep him until 24?

I get not wanting to fire coaches mid season but this one feels like it has to be done.

I think feelers are out there already and we’re just keeping House so we don’t lose another defensive coach.

He has to know that he’s doomed, right?

I think it’s wrong to assume House is being fired.

The D has serious, significant holes.

No pass rush DE. Lost its only all sec caliber DL. Linebackers are average after Perkins. Cornerbacks were a disaster heading into season and injury and other attrition makes it a historic type of disaster. And our safeties are average.

He also lost his DL coach.

People need a scapegoat.

It’s like you people didn’t pay attention last year. He didn’t get rid of Brian Polian until the end of the year, and he’s not going to get rid of House until the end of the year.

We can get word out by not letting House go until end of season. USC gains no advantage doing it now except showing they will fire coaches before the season ends. It’s a bad look.

What DC is leaving their team now?

The situations are a little different. Alex Grinch should have been fired by Riley a long time ago but that is his close friend so it took until now to let him go. Matt House was pretty successful last year. He will not be retained but not going to fire him midseason. If he did I wouldn't be mad but its just not something Kelly is going to do until after the A&M game unless its to save his arse. And he is nowhere close to being on the hot seat.

Is it too early for a coaches changes board? I would imagine things will be heating up all over. Not just LSU.

LSU must do what it takes to keep this recruiting class. If that is fire coaches now or fire them after signing day is the question. There is no possible way you can keep these coaches after this dismal performance.

I understand why, but if USC snags up Leonard first , it will be disappointing.

What does it accomplish by firing House now? You want Bob Diaco or John Jancek calling the defense the rest of the year?

You let House move on in the offseason and handle it the right way.
