They realize their dominance is coming to an end, they hyped this game up and some revenge gamete cause Kelly best them last season.

They are seeing the decline and aren't happy about it. It will only get worse

They finished last year as the #5 team in the country and are in really good position to make the playoff this year. You are telling yourself this to make yourself feel better. But yeah they were also probably pissed that there were LSU fans telling them that they were going to walk into Tuscaloosa and win by 14+

Now that you mention it, yes.
That place was more on tilt and emotional than it has been in a while. Losing to us last year pissed them off more than Bamers care to admit. You saw a years worth of pain and anger unleashed Saturday night.

It wasn’t horrible by any stretch but saw more verbal confrontations and shite talking from them than normal.
Sucked arse feeling the momentum shift inside the stadium, knowing that the wheels were coming off. Same exact feeling I had in Orlando.

Honestly had a great experience all weekend in my case. Came away thinking they were a classy bunch.

Arkansas has been the worst away trip for chirping from my experience as a student.

I was at a tailgate at Central High School, next to a road, where random Gumps would drive by and cuss us out. Counting Dixieland Delight during the game, I heard some variation of "frick LSU" 11 times yesterday.

I’ve been to many games, my ex wife’s family have tickets and they offer them every now and then for me to go…. They know I’m a big LSU fan. I turned them down this year because the last few times I’ve had issues with college aged drunk frat guys. I’m so glad I stayed home last night.

Here’s my theory. They are all aware that Alabama has lost its edge that it had before NIL, they also know that LSU is on the upswing with Kelly, Jayden Daniels is very good, etc. when it gets close like this they get aggressive. It’s very similar to when I went to Florida at the end of the Tebow years. For some reason it’s like a sense goes off and the fans know the peak has been crossed and it will not get better. Sure they’ll still be good but they are not playing for championships every year like they did in the 2010s. It’s more of an angst they are dealing with. I’ve been thinking this the last few years but I’ve heard T Bob talk about it but he describes it in much more detail.

Most of the Alabama fans on the SEC Rant are an anomaly. 25 to 30 percent are good folk. The rest are illiterate trolls who could not find Tuscaloosa on a map.

But generally in real life most are ok. And typically their fans at BDS either ignore you--- which is fine or are decent with the exception of idiots all fan bases had.

Last night most were just nasty, like some WWE crowd.Rude, vulgar and confrontational. Never had seen this before. After the game,at least, one Bama couple loudly berated two losers for sucker punching two LSU fans.
I've been going to away games for years and I always feel like these threads are sort of the reverse version of the absurd "piss balloons" nonsense about LSU.

In my experience, the vast VAST majority of fans are at worst, neutral, but more often - outright hospitable.

As someone else noticed - yes, of course, every fanbase has their drunktards, but those are outliers.

ALL college decorum shines vs NFL "decorum". Now those fans actually do do this shite en masse.

This is exactly what I meant with my post saying their dominance is leaving.

They see the writing on the wall Saban can't coach forever and with NIL and conference realignment they see their teams coming back to earth.

Still a great program by any measure but not the dominant one it was 3,4,5 years ago

Sorry, but this sounds like a lot of wishful thinking on your part. Their program is still in a much better place than ours. if anything, the resurgence of Georgia as an SEC power may serve to weaken them in the future.

LSU ruined their entire lives last year. Most of them have literally no life except Bama football.

There’s definitely an above average emotional attachment. Every fan base has this to an extent but you can tell it’s more important to them.

Only one drunk that was standing next to us along the fence watching warmups; told him him to leave me alone and he left.

Other than that, got a bunch of good games afterwards. The rest ignored us all day, I really think they were scared before the game

2 inbreds were going into Waffle House in Meridian this am wearing their matching Roll frickin Tide shirts

I noticed it last night and wasn’t at the game. I was in Houston watching it and the Gumps were much more insufferable to the point, I left. Went back home to watch the 2nd half

Losing last year hurt them.

They have been devastated about it for an entire year, because they have no perspective and treat every loss like a death. They have no idea how to roll with a loss like other fan bases and I for one am satisfied that they’re generally miserable.

Not particularly. Thankfully had a nice LSU buffer around us but the nearest gumps were three college kids that didn’t really interact with us much and some butch lesbo’s. The lesbians got a little fiesty at times, but a few of the LSU baws provoked them.

Even asked a gump after the game for their pom pom to bring back to my 1 year old to flap around and they were happy to let me have it.

Worse thing that happened was being roll tide’d by a 10 year old while we were grabbing a bite to eat prior to the game

ETA: I guess I just look too intimidating for people to say anything to, because I was letting a good bit of vulgarity out when Daniels got injured

First trip. Very different experience.
Those folks were great.

Went to their boards for some first time help, and got lots of it. Where to park, what to see, etc. Ended up tailgating with one of them, and they treated us like family.

At the game, Wife and I are only LSU fans in the area, and everyone around us was enjoyable to talk to.

Their fans are. Spoiled, but they love their Tide. Very cool atmosphere.
