I like Zy Alexander and Denver Harris but................. I promise you the drop off to the freshman corners is not that big of a difference if there is any. I'm honestly confused as to why these guys haven't seen the field in a larger role yet this season. Stamps was the breakout star in fall camp and Welch was a break out star in spring ball. They'll make mistakes, but I ultimately think they surprise some people who are writing them off.

The good news is that Bryce young/Tua, Jeudy, Waddle, Smith aren't walking out the tunnel for Bama on Sat.

What exactly are you basing this statement on? Do you think that Kelly was intentionally holding out our best defensive backs?

Lol, ok.

Look, they might play well, but it’s much more likely they don’t because they just haven’t had that many reps and this is a tough game to break in.

Not to mention the one who has technically played in the most games (Welch) still seems to be MIA.

Man, y’all are really going to be losing y’all minds on the scoreboard Saturday night. And y’all set yourselves up for it lol. I don’t know what defense y’all been watching this year that gives this hope.

I have a feeling that the youngsters aren't seeing the field on defense because they haven't learned all of House's complicated schemes. Now that they are forced to play, I expect House will have to simplify some things, which likely means more man-to-man coverage. If that's the case, our defense will likely be better that it has been. We miss so many assignments when we play zone.

Welch is not a good tackler.

Toviano, Hughes, and Stammps will be given the opportunity to make an impact the rest of the season and set themselves up nicely for next season.

Unfortunately, I think Welch has fallen down the depth chart because of his inability to make tackles. He had a very good opening drive against Ole Miss and then got worse with every play and could not make tackles. I think the staff are going to put an emphasis on this with Welch in the offseason. He still has an opportunity to be a good corner at some point but probably not this year.

I'm not worried and welcome the "new look" defensive secondary. Our starters have been terrible and I think BK puts an extreme amount of emphasis on experience. I think we'll definitely see some inexperience but we'll also see more talented players. This is actually a good game to have this problem because Bama's offense isn't as good as previous years. Milroe will miss some open WR's as he's done many times this year.

Thank God. That would be a score my heart couldn’t take.
