Excellent Halloween scary movie for kids. I have seen (and grew up on) most of the Jim Varney movies but had never seen this one. Thanks CAD for the plex. I highly recommend this as a scary movie for the whole family.

Probably the second best Ernest movie. Only behind Goes to Camp and probably tied with Saves Christmas.
Jim Varney was such a huge talent and Apparenlty and incrdibly sweet guy in real life.

That troll still freaks me out

Watched this an infinite number of times as a kid.
Hadn’t seen it, or really even thought of it, for over 20 years. I scrolled by it on HBO Go during my Halloween movie month four years ago and decided to watch. I was stunned at all the memories that came flooding back.

That was my favorite Ernest movie as a kid

Finally got my 7 year old to watch it this weekend. Favorite lines were of course “miak” and “how about a bumper sandwich, booger lips”

Watched this at school in fourth grade. We didn’t finish it, so much of seeing the troll out in the open was missed.
The damage was done though, That troll literally became my boogeyman for a few years. Scared the shite out of me.
Watching it beyond grade school hard me laughing.

most of the Jim Varney movies
I was in Tulsa when Varney got his big break. He was shooting commercials for Braum’s restaurants (kinda like a mid western DQ, ice cream and burgers).
Ernest P. Worrell was still a WIP when Varney died. Very good character actor really. The Ernest character was his creation not out of a Hollyweird Studio.

Introduced my girlfriend to it last week. She liked it!
Scared Stupid is a classic!
