That mower will handle 14 acres on a charge.

Some cool new consumer products too like the shop vac and pressure washer.

Wish they would come out with a reel mower that didn’t cost 5+ grand like the Allett

Unfortunately the commercial tools come with a much shorter warranty. I think only a year on battery or tool.

There's a minibike coming out. Pretty cool.

I wonder why someone hasn’t just thrown a 36v or 48v lithium golf cart battery into one? Why go with ego type batteries I mean? No reason to work on the battery tech just the motor and machine? 48v lithium you can recharge in 2-3 hours and if a golf cart can get a 50+ mile range I’d think you’d get pretty good mower range.

I don't know why you're getting downvotes. It seems like a fair question and given that ego gave up on the "batteries work for any device" on the commercial side and going for much larger ones it would seem a lifeP04 solution would make sense and be fairly cost effective since that tech has been proven out on thousands of golf carts.

I would think you would need a bigger battery to go 50 miles in a golf cart, or several batteries. The zero turn EGO mowers need 4 of their biggest batteries. The EGO tractor needs six 6 Ah batteries for 1.5 acres of cutting. Just imagine trying to carry more than one person in a cart for an extended amount of time.

I think EGO is diving head first into some really wild waters with these new releases. Not sure how it'll end.

having just done this....

i bought 2 48v LifeP04 batteries for my cart. WAAAY lighter than the bricks they were replacing. Before I had 6 8v batteries (i think) to get 48v from the old fuel cell batteries to get around 25 mi range.

just 2 batteries provides equivalent range; no need to buy 6 even though they would fit and are WAY WAY lighter than the bricks they replaced.

as an aside, the retrofit kit was roughly $1500 for the 2 batteries, inverter, busbar, LED battery dash, etc. so if I can buy that as a consumer I imagine EGO could build something in house for much less. That mower wasn't priced yet but was in the 'high teens' so I think unless they're just gouging people on the batteries they could pump up the range.

also these LifeP04 recharge fully in about an hour using a standard extension cord plugged into the wall.

EGO could build for cheaper but let's be honest: they're the Mercedes of outdoor battery equipment. Works extremely well, expensive if you need to fix. I love all my tools but i know relying on their reliability. I've got the twin blade mower, carbon fiber string trimmer with smart loader, and blower. I hope I never need any of these tools to be replaced in 10+ years but I know when I do have to replace I'll have gotten my money's worth.

EGO equipment turning into toys seems like an easy way to crush the battery and product life .

I am about to do the lithium swap on my cart. 6 8v in series give you 48v and like 150ah depending on brand, but you can't use all that, and they weigh a ton. The place I talked to about the swap said you could go down in the ah and get equivalent performance with the lithium batteries bc of their ability to discharge lower and the weight savings.

i love these guys out of atlanta. always seem to have a sale and very nicely finished solution. You literally just connect it all up and its good to go assuming you don't have anything else wrong w/ the cart.

Epoch

I paid right at $1500 for this kit back in May and sometimes if there's not an active sale just call them and they'll adjust the price in your cart.

eta i see they added a bluetooth module since i bought mine so that's new.
