No, let them in. Why risk they don’t see you and run into you? There is no win, lose driving.

Seriously? Been covered a dozen times.

More importantly, what is the OTs watch of choice when in a zipper merge?

People never fill both lanes and it irritates me. Yesterday there was a lane closure and everyone moved over long before the lane closure began, causing traffic to back up into the previous intersection and back up the red light. Meanwhile there's about half a mile of empty lane that no one is using. I took the empty lane all the way until the closure began as you're supposed to and people were trying to prevent me from getting over and "cutting the line."

Once people start taking advantage absolutely. They are what cause gridlock

One of the bigger issues is the SDE from a jacked up truck driver. These SD drivers will completely go off-road to bypass every car. Then proceed to merge back into traffic and create a lot of anger.

Monday morning on range at I-12 is the strangest/most beautiful time of the morning commute. 6, 18-wheelers lined up on the on ramp shoulder with hazards on, sleeping off the late night Sunday booze.

And one particular Jeep that literally drives all the way to the end plus 300 feet of the merge lane to get ahead of 12 vehicles and in to grid lock.

I usually enjoy the marge lane up until about 600ft before the end where I casually merge into traffic with traffic speed.

That Jeep.

They win every single time. All the awards. All the moneys.

Not this shite again.

One of the OT’s odder obsessions.

The other day I was driving on I16 where's there's a ton of construction going on right now. There were several signs stating that the right lane was ending/merge etc. You see a ton of people getting over to the left lane prior to the merge.

Turns out, there was no merge. They had finished construction for the day and hadn't picked all of the signs up. So all those people were getting into the left lane for no reason, causing traffic to be worse than it needed to be rather than just staying in the right lane until it was time to "merge".

I only block when it’s not an approved area for merge, often people will drive down to cross white or double white and try to merge in, in which case frick them. At a legal merge, no let them in

Yes, always use all of the road available.

The idiots that stop traffic trying to merge 1/2 mile early are the worst.

If you’re in the lane that’s about to end then you need to commit and drive to the end of it.

People are so stupid.

There is always a grandma or a texting idiot leaving a big gap. Just have to merge then watch they don’t hit you.
