Read that tweet carefully. The reporter, not the mom, says (in the introductory clause) that kid bowling league was underway. He then cites mom as saying she was bowling with her family, including a child.
I have no idea if kid league was underway, but the quoted tweet did not have the mom saying that it was.

the owner of the bowling alley said there were up to 100 people in the bowling alley at the time of the shooting. approximately 20 were children.
