A lot of us including myself and fellow pelican media heads wanted us to go get Scoot. I know its preseason but his play has been underwhelming. Lets see how he develops but these aren’t really generational guard kind of stats. Did we dodge a bullet here?
Games: 4
Minutes: 28.3 minutes per game.
Scoring: 13.5 points per game (third on the team).
Shooting: 41.7% from the field, 29.4% on threes and 90% from the free throw line.
Assists/Turnovers: Led team with 5.8 assists per game but also led in turnovers at 3.5.
Rebounds: Managed just 1.5 rebounds per game, 14th on the team.
Steals/Blocks: Produced just two steals and zero blocked shots.

He'll be fine...might end up great, but probably not. At Portland, he'll be able to do whatever he wishes...so his numbers will be such that many folks will think he is having a better year than he actually is. Portland is a perfect situation for him to just run & gun...and have a big time. He will be just fine..at doing that, as long as you don't look at his numbers too closely.

I’m not worried about Scoot. That dude is an alpha and will do what ever he needs to do to be a star. If you could inject scoot’s drive into zion he would be an MVP

I think he'll end up being good. But you never know.

We don’t have PMs, nor do we have a discreet board for posters to see sensitive information if they promise not to spread it online
If it’s personal, like Baby Mama Drama, I’d keep it to yourself. If it’s something that impacts the team and fans, post it, but also make sure to tell us which “cousin that has a friend who’s an Uber driver” is the source so we can have an idea how to evaluate it.
Also, this is TD and you aren’t Shams or Woj, so if you’re going to tell people something they don’t want to hear, you’re probably in a bit of a kill the messenger situation.

Ghost2most is right about 3 piece being anti Zion. But you might be right because 3 piece has passed off info before claiming to know people related to the medical staff. Mostly focusing on what his weight is/was.

Again why does this topic keep coming up? We never were in serious talks to get him let alone denied a trade. So it’s not even a woulda coulda shoulda. The fact that some of you are still attached to him is sad.

I don’t think you understand the word preseason considering this thread and previous threads. You can’t say “I know it’s preseason and then constantly talk about your concerns and worries based off preseason.

Dude you can’t completely ignore everything in preseason either. You can absolutely say I know its preseason because things that are shown in preseason can translate into the regular season very easily and other things dont. You assume preseason is absolutely meaningless in certain areas it may be and certain areas its not.
For instance, Dyson has shown improvement- since its preseason is that meaningless? Zion had a great first half- since its preseason is it meaningless. Your issue is that you want to dismiss all negatives from preseason showing. If you’re going to do that then ignore all the positives too since preseason doesn’t matter.

No one is attached to him. But it was actively reported by Woj and Shams we had discussions for Scoot. It was reported by Shams that we had a visit with Scoot and his agent literally a day before the draft- a prospect and his agent don’t do that unless they feel they may be traded there. So you can go ahead and assume Shams made that all up but they were talks of us trading for him and it never panned out. I thought it was just interesting how his preseason hasn’t been that great.

• I’m aware things in preseason translate to the regular season.

You are dismissing that and under the impression that those things will translate into the regular season. I’m trying to explain to you that those things are happening to prepare and figure things out for the regular season so they don’t happen. In other words we are using preseason by definition of “preparing for the season”.
We are almost a new team with everyone healthy and running a completely new system with Borrego. So yes I expect us to look rough, figure shite out, and protect our players health in preseason.
So new system + new players + not allowing players to give 100% to protect from injuries = sub par play or others call it preseason

We could lose every preseason game by 50pts and only let Hawkins/ Dyson shoot and if they actually translate better into regular season then it was a success not a “failure”

He’s not injured. It’s honestly extremely random and I doubt people will believe me bc I’ve been so anti Zion for the past year or so.
I wasn’t always anti Zion though to be fair lol. I’ll post it later when I have some time.
