Anyone think Trey Jemison could get a 2 way and play some regular season games?

He rebounded the ball amazingly well all preseason, 16 rebounds per 36 minutes, and played decent defense. He seems closer to the 3rd center we needed last year that Jaxson and Billy couldn't be. I just see him as more useful than Lidell, especially with Nance's injury issues and JV's slow feet.

He is already signed to an exhition 10.

Is it 3 players who can be signed to a 2 way this year?
They already have Seabron and Gates on a 2 way.
Brockington on exhibition contract also.

I only count 14 regular players on the roster. Are they saving a spot for someone?

Not sure if Malcolm Hill is considered a roster spot?

Yeah, that is different from the list I saw. There is 17 on that one. The one I saw had Seabron as a 2-way. It didn't list Hill or Gates. That's where I'm getting 14. Is Seabron going to get a roster spot?

Seabron and Gates have 2 of the 3 2 way contracts, with the 3rd still available.

Brockington and Jemison are signed to exhibition 10 contracts.

I don't think anyone will take that 15th spot.
I'm sure Hill will be waived at some point.

Unless they changed it in this year’s new CBA, 2 way guys can play 50 games and don’t count towards the tax. 50 games should be enough for the 3rd string center, so why complicate the tax situation more if he’s a guy that would happily sign a 2 way with the hope of a real deal later like Naji, Jose, and EJ have done in the past?

Rosters have to be set on October 23rd. We will know then. Might end up adding someone to the last 2 way or roster spot after cuts.

Either way it needs to be a young center no matter who we add

Yeah, Trey showed enough to get that last 2 way spot IMO.

We will leave the 15th roster spot open in case a trade pops up that we can do to get us out of the tax, or to add someone later in the year on the buyout market if we’re rolling and will stay in the tax.

Seems like we are super short handed right now, with only 14 regulars. Then Alvarado, Marshall and Murphy out, plus did Nance play at all this preseason? Is he hurt or still rehabbing?

We will be going into the season with only 10 guys (plus the 2 ways). A bench of Lewis, Hawkins, Daniels, Lidell and Zeller isn't giving me a tremendous sense of confidence..

We're at 14. They don't want to go further into the tax so I'd guess they stay at 14 until they find a trade for Kira to get under the tax then sign seabron to get back to 14

sounds like nance and jose will be back for the season opener. Naji will probably miss the first 2 weeks, and then hopefully Trey is back beginning of December

Jose and Nance are expected to be ready for the season opener. There were some Jose vids from practice the last day or 2 where Jose was moving pretty good in one on one drills.

Zeller back is a concern since they are tricky for bigs. We need him back since Nance probably won't be ready for big minutes early on and JV is going to struggle against bigs who has better mobility and athleticism than him or bigs who can shoot the corner 3s at a good clip.

The first 5 games will be against teams who can exploit JV on the defensive end.

I totally forgot Zeller was on the team because he hasn't played. Maybe Jemison doesn't get a 2 way then.

If I’m right both Zeller and Nance participated in portion of the practice before the preseason game yesterday. Im hoping they should be good to go next week.
