If those walls could talk.

The building was built in 1929 as four one-bedroom apartments but was most recently a bar. Anderson plans to put residential apartments on the second floor of the property and a mix of commercial and residential space on the ground floor. He estimates the renovations will cost $300,000 and will be completed by the end of summer next year.

No shite. We would go there and drink keg Abita in wax cups and play foosball against the sketchiest of dudes…they were fast though…no telling what they were on. Focused and dirty AF.

He already renovated the other two historic building on chimes.. did a very nice job and maintained a historic flare … he updated them nicely and kept what historically he could ( I.e.floors etc)… y’all saw one of them in a recent thread….
Turning chimes into something nice.. one building at a time.

Chimes St died the day The Bayou burned.

It’s too bad the bars along that strip didn’t work out. It’d be an amazing spot for drinking at LSU. It’s incredible how underutilized that corridor is.
Ingas and Chimes are institutions as well. RIP geauld Tiger and their dirt cheap Chinese food.

Woo! Ichabod’s was my favorite bar in 2001. Now’s my chance to live there.

Brian's a good guy- went to LSU and appreciates Chimes St history-. He'll do it right.

How many students back in the day used to tell their parents they were going to the library when they were really going to "The Library"?

Indeed, great place, will be missed.

All that just to still have a member of Three Blind Mice waiting around the building to stab you up.

The apartment above the bar was always pretty cool.
