It did about double what The Marvels is going to do.

MCU now losing to Taylor Swift.

Just got her concert recorded, edited, and is printing money from this. No trailers and I’m guessing they didn’t spend very much money on promoting/advertising. Easy fricking money for her

Seen some videos of the in theater viewing. Looks like a complete shitshow with little kids screaming the entire time.

Couldn't imagine sitting through that

God bless her but I have no idea why she is so popular.

I mean, I’m not surprised they treated it like a concert since that’s what it is.

It’s not my cup of tea but if that’s what makes folks happy and continues to get people back in movie theaters then they can have at it.

So this will outperform "The Marvels?"

I am going to let you in on a little secret. There is a huge amount of us who dont care for Swift or Marvels movies.

Not everyone is on the superhero bandwagon

In the early 80s, if Freddie Mercury, Prince or Michael Jackson would've released a concert for the Big Screen, I know, as a fan, I would have paid to see it in theaters. They could command a stage and put on a show. But there wasn't even Fathom Events/live performances available, much less theatrical live-in-concert releases from those guys.

Yet, I know fanatics like the Swifties would pay just to watch Taylor watch paint dry, so the high numbers don't actually tell you if it's she puts on a good show.

Exactly. She is going to crush The Marvels because she has virtually no production or marketing costs unlike The Marvels budget of 278M means they have to hit 695M to just break even. Taylor Swift is likely already in the black. Disney will never get out of the red. I think Bob Iger is about to quit and The Marvels is going to be his breaking point.

All they have to do is tweet about it from her official account and that's all the marketing they need.

Absolute money printing operation on this.

And with the recording of the concerts, this isn't the only product they'll make from it. I'm sure there will be a documentary auctioned off to the highest bidding streamer. And other things I can't even think of right now.

I have zero interest in Taylor swift’s music or this movie, but sounds like good, clean fun.
