Vader, are you familiar with the P-40 in the LSU bookstore?

No. I’m not. Do you mean an actual P-40?

My young PVT, and our P40N in desert livery at the museum I work at. You may have seen this one in Pearl Harbor, and Valkyrie.

I love the jungle scheme from the battles of China, My favorite liveries were the Taiwanese and the desert.

Model looks excellent, well done !

That’s awesome. My son is also a Pvt.

I remember P-40 in Pearl Harbor (terrible movie) but I don’t recall a P-40 in Valkyrie (awesome movie) or can think of why one would be in it.

If you're ever passing through Monroe the Chennault Aviation Museum seems right up your alley.

quote:

The museum is housed in the last remaining classrooms of the Selman Field Navigation School, the largest navigation school in the U.S. during WWII. The Museum honors the story of General Claire Chennault and the Flying Tigers during WWII and how one man helped change the war in China. The bilingual “Way of a Fighter” exhibit is based on General Chennault’s book written in 1949. The museum also tells the story of how a small crop-dusting business evolved into the second largest airline in the world, Delta Airlines.

There is a scene where von Stauffenberg is wounded by an attacking aircraft (in N. Africa?) and I think that must be the plane in the film.

Those awesome.

Do you ever build starship models or all metal kits?

Most I buy from a local hobby shop. I set local, it’s on Hoover about an hour from where I live. I also order some from Amazon and eBay. Usually once a year we’ll make a day trip to Memphis to a Hobby Shop there that has a tremendous selection. Also, whenever I travel for business, I’ll check to se if the city I’m in has a good model shop.

No. I stick with plastic military kits, usually, but not always, WWII era.

P-40 Warhawk was known as the Tomahawk (probably verboten to call it that now) and the Kittyhawk in service with the British Commonwealth air forces.
