What is the single most expensive dish that you've ever had in a restaurant?

a special filet at Dakota's in Covington. I don't know how much it cost, but for 4 people to eat LUNCH, the bill was a little over $300

The finger sandwiches at my daughters wedding.
The catfish at seafood restaurant in Lake Charles, the food poisoning doctor bills, missed work and prescriptions ran about $2,000.
Does the price fixe for $100 at Charlie Trotters count?
I usually don't get to eat the most expensive dishes I pay for, my wife does. She thinks "market price" is what it costs at Albertson's.

I almost went to a sushi restaurant in California before reading the reviews and discovering that it costs 390 a person
Anyway as far as the most expensive single item...probably about a 55 dollar steak ala carte.

At Vrazels in Gulfport. They had a steak and lobster plate on the menu for around $50 or so, my host really wanted us to get it, but he asked the restaurant to upgrade the steak to a filet.
I am guessing it was around $60 or so. Glad I did not pay.

don't know how it would breakdown, but the rissoto at Stella that was part of the tasting menu......b/c i added these rare Italian truffles to the dish. Ouch.
Meal and wine came to close to a grand for 4 of us, but i would skip the truffles next time. They didn't add enough to the meal to justify the extra cost.

My wife and I spent roughly $200 at "Ditka's" on St. Charles years ago for burnt steaks and cold baked potatoes. Not only the most expensive but also the worst value.

I have no idea because I don't look at the menu prices. That might discourage me. I just let the total bill blow me away.
I do look at wine prices for some reason and usually don't go too overboard in that direction but on occasion...
You only live once so don't think of it as expensive, think of it as something you deserve and just do it.

5 pound lobster at Morton's in Canal Place. Market price was like $35 a pound, so that was like $175 for lobster only. It was really good and you only live once so it was worth it!
