Hamas hasn't allowed elections since 2007. And the original election that put them in power is suspect. It's not as easy as "they voted for this, they deserve to die."
Remember, Israel's treatment of innocent civilians here will define this conflict. Violation of humanitarian rights will just give Arabs an excuse to continue their jihad against the West.
It may not affect you, but it will affect your grandchildren.

If Israel's priority was possession of the strip, they would not have patiently accepted the Palestinian terrorist setting off bombs and killing innocent Jews riding a bus or eating in a restaurant. Israel's priority and goal is simply to end the "experiment" of trying to live peacefully along side terrorist whose professed mission is to kill Jews. It's not complicated nor secretive.
Their goal is same as yours would be if in same situation, safety for your family and fellow countrymen.
The reasonable reaction to this is commending Israel for their long-suffering patience dealing with those suicidal/homicidal maniacs.
Lastly, the Palestinians aren't welcome by any Arab neighbors because they cause problems everywhere they go. People who view this in any other perspective are not dealing with reality.

There is no conventional warfare that Israel can participate in that will not affect the civilians, and that is the point. Hamas can attack Israel all they want. They can rape and butcher men, women, and children and most of the world won’t care at all, but as soon as Israel responds, they are immediately condemned for that response.

Well, they voted for a group of authoritarian lunatics who would consolidate power and discontinue elections. Shouldn’t have come as a surprise. They had a choice to revolt against that action of being disenfranchised. They collectively chose to cower.

I don’t think Israel cares about civilian collateral damage. The same civilians that grow up watching cartoons depicting Jews as blood drinking zealots. The same civilians that to a man, woman, or child have blood lust for killing Jews.
I think Hamas has created the environment for Israel to eliminate the Palestinian people and Israel may do just that.

Naw, if Israel was land hungry, they would still own the Sinai and major parts of Lebanon and Syria. They won huge chunks of both in battle. If Russia had done the same, you think they would have dealt it back? Israel simply wants peace, but knows how to defend itself very well.

Gaza is just an open air prison. Both sides are assholes but the only solution I see is peaceful integration. I am sure there are more than a few residents that weer going about their lives not wanting to be bombed. Until then, Iran will continue to use them as a proxy to poke the bear.
