Does it seem like the death of Americans has been kinda glossed over?

27 Americans were killed in the Hamas attacks and 14 are still missing. There was a time in American history where if you harmed the hair of an American, no matter where that American might be, we personally made sure you paid for it.
When an American was murdered by terrorists on the Achille Lauro cruise ship off the coast of Egypt in 1985, US fighter jets forced the plane carrying the hijackers out of the sky in order to bring those responsible to justice.
The terrorist bombing of a disco in Berlin which killed 2 Americans in 1986 resulted in the bombing of Libya ten days later.
I know we are aiding Israel in their efforts following this attack, but it seems like there was a time where we very much wanted our pound of flesh if you harmed an American.

Look at who was President of the United States then compared to who we have now.

It bothers me we aren’t bombing Gaza. They killed Americans. Frick that place. Entire strip would be a parking lot with Reagan as president.

Most of these are dual citizens not harmless Americans targeted for being Americans or American property or govt being attacked in a country because of proximity.

stolen elections often have bad consequences.

We have to pay 6 billion for 5 prisoners, and swapped an arms dealer for a lesbian pot smoking women’s bball player.

Saying unfortunately it was collateral and why should the US go to war over 30 people? Do you realize how many innocents the US military has killed in attacks that were collateral or accidental?
I get the frustration but you know nothing about these people, hell they could have been born here lived here for a few months and spent their whole lives in other countries but have citizenship.
Let’s not go full crazy not even a week after this happening. Israel is already taking care of business so I don’t understand what else needs to be done.

Of course the media will because it gets them views. “If it bleeds it leads”.
Should other countries attack us when their citizens get killed here?

Many Israelis hold dual citizenship. I’m not questioning anyone’s “American-ness,” just stating it’s not rare to see many Israelis also described as citizens of other countries.
Israel’s Law of Return offers free second citizenship, stating Jews anywhere in the world have the unrestricted right to immigrate to Israel and become Israeli citizens.
Many of those listed as Americans are now Israelis who hold dual citizenship to another country. That said, all US citizens are entitled to and should receive protection from the US government.

Forgive the swerve but your topic reminded me of a video I watched about 10 years ago. It was produced by a young American Jewish guy who moved to Israel and loved baseball.
He invited American amateur baseball players he knew to come over for a tournament against an Israeli team of players.
He got a handful of Americans to come over and play and the video was about what a wonderful time they had. BUT, he lamented that so many of his American baseball friends refused saying 'It's too dangerous to go there.'

Yes. In the Eighties, if you pissed off President Reagan; you just shite your pants.
Now, President Biden, in his Eighties, shits his pants.

Says who? They may think they are entitled and perhaps that’s the problem.
Do you think other nations should have full access to their citizens when they frick up here?

US Code.
Particularly Equitable Treatment by United States of Its Citizens Living Abroad (see CHAPTER 23—PROTECTION OF CITIZENS ABROAD).

I don’t really have an opinion on it.
Fact is other countries have different procedures and requirements than does the United States.
If you’re a US citizen living abroad or traveling for a short or extended period, you’re protected.

Providing assistance doesn’t mean it’s absolute. Also the sentence before that says they ensure the defense of our borders

First of all, most of these Americans have prolly gone through the Aliyah process and have dual citizenship.
That said, you are correct that this is yet more disappearing by our state media lackey propagandists…

I didn’t say I agreed with it; just saying it’s the law, as written.
I certainly won’t defend the US government for anything it does.
They’re dead to me.
