I could’ve swore I remembered Hodson hit Fuller in the back of the end zone but when he came down his foot was out of bounds. Did that happen or am I crazy?

It happened on first down. They came back to it on fourth down for the win.

Not the greatest season but the end of the 2008 game was great. Jared Mitchell made some good plays down the stretch and Lee hit LaFell on a TD late that would wind up being the game winner.

Matt Flynn to Byrd in the back of the End Zone at the end of that game was by far, one of the best plays in LSU History. Despite our Coach not even knowing how much time was on the clock.

Michael Clayton also murdered the Auburn return man on the kickoff following LSU's first score.

1988: Hodson-to-Fuller-to the seismograph! Mike Anderson's goal line stop in 1970 has got to be up there, too.

Previous play was the same play but Hodson didn't see Fuller open in the endzone.

You are probably right; I was in the student section but I remember they missed the previous play and then went right back to it for the win.

ETA: Just watched the ending on youtube. Penrod is correct. Fuller caught it in the back of the end out of bounds on 1st down. On third down scrambling Hodson didn't see Alvin Lee come open that would have been an easy touchdown.

The 15 yd penalty to start the game for stomping on the eye of the Tiger and the onsides kick.

The look on Big Ears Tuberville's face was priceless.

Agreed. Was coming to say this was one of my favorite games in person. I don’t know if I have ever lost my shite more than when that guy missed that fifth field goal for us to win the game.

One thing that always sticks out about that game was that there was a buzz in the stadium for that game. It was so loud right up until the last FG attempt. After he made contact, the stadium got deathly quiet and you could hear the uprights vibrate.

Actually, he played RB all of 1969. Played QB in 1868. Safety in 1967.

2003: LSU pulverizes AU leading 21-0 after Broussards toss sweep TD run in the first quarter. Tubberville starts crying and it's 31-0 in third quarter after Mauck hits Henderson. That AU team was preseason No. 2 I think but just wasn't it. Got killed by us and USC that year.

I was living in Ohio at the time and could catch the radio transmission on WWL. I was attending something at church that night, and I got in my car right after LSU scored the third TD in the first quarter. First thing I heard was Doug Morreau saying, "If Auburn's not careful, LSU's gonna score 100 tonight."

Fun memories.
