You could put Daredevil as a secondary character in a PG-13 movie
Are we talking about that, or a revival of a series revolving around Daredevil?
I mean, you could do the same with Deadpool...but would that be the same as a Deadpool movie?
Again, these properties were explicitly bought by Disney to add male viewers, and then they turned around and feminized them all...and blamed fans for not liking it.
Hell, even Screenrant, of all places, basically understood this back in 2009.

Disney has always struggled to find its place in the world when it came to reaching the teen/young teen male audience. It's no wonder, because shows like Hannah Montana, The Jonas Brothers and every freakin' princess movie ever made is geared and marketed towards girls of every age. Disney finally started trying to hit the boy demographic when it started up the TV channel Disney XD, which already shows 20 shows from Marvel's arsenal, but it was having trouble finding an audience with its current lineup of characters. I don't think they have that problem anymore. Now, with more than 5,000 characters to choose from, Disney can now move forward with some interesting shows.

I doubt they want to go as dark as the Netflix series did.
Daredevil is dark. It was the Marvel answer to Batman. It's supposed to be dark. How many people were killed with the snap of a finger in The Avengers?
If Disney is going to continue to actually try and improve their Marvel brand, they're going to have to move some stuff off Disney plus to Hulu or partner with less "family friendly" streaming sources. Imagine trying to do Punisher or X-Men.

and my daughter likes Ms marvel
remember when they put Ms Marvel on ABC during the writers strike and no one watched it there either?
Some of the D+ shows have been good. WandaVision was good, Loki was good, I liked hawkeye. I was disappointed in F&WS (it was the one I looked forward to the most when they were first announced). Secret Invasion sucked. Werewolf by Night was fun. My point is the meh outnumbers the mid/good at this point. I'm now apathetic to the content because it hasn't been worth the time investment.
I watched ep 1 of the new season of Loki though and I did enjoy it. I just remember the before time when people got pumped for this shite and the theories were all over the place. Now it's arse just like the comics. I hope X-Men 97 is good because I'd rather watch this stuff as cartoons at this point.
Deadpool is probably the most important MCU movie at this moment. There is a lot riding on that movie being succesful and I think it will be.

Unless it's really bad, that movie's gonna make a killing

They long confirmed the next Deadpool featuring Hugh Jackman is going to be a a very hard Rated R.
Deadpool may make a cameo in one of the future Marvel linear phase universe movies, but I seriously doubt it.
I guess anything is possible, but Brenthal as Punisher is even more unlikely to ever show up in a PG-13 movie
Although they somehow figured out how to make the sequels of Police Academy & Major League PG-13.
So who the frick knows

Yeah...I never went back.
Season 3 of Picard was nothing like Season 2. It really was good.

Werewolf By Night was probably one of the best things from this “phase”, down to using the old “ABC special” bumper at the front of it.

1. Observe what's being done for Loki, down to the last, meticulous detail.
2. Do that for other MCU shows.
3. Profit.

You're a level one POON. You're what is wrong with current Marvel.

Daredevil, like Punisher, is a dark series because it deals (as much as a fictional world can) the grimy underbelly of society and how that can present someone with high moral character a choice between only two bad possible solutions.
Hard to crack jokes when you are busting up a child trafficking ring. . .or a gang rape.

It doesn't have anything to do with "current things." It's because the writing has sucked. Secret invasion sucked. And it wasn't about "current things" or "wokeness" or whatever excuse people make these days. Keep that shite in the poli thread where it belongs. The reason why marvel has sucked recently is because the writing has been abysmal. They've focused too much on quantity and not enough ok quality. That's why quntimania sucked.

Daredevil on Netflix was the best Marvel anything put to screen. Better than Ironman, Captain America, The Avengers... anything.
The nerfing of Daredevil in She-Hulk and this subsequent pile of trash was even too much for the execs to stomach, it seems.
Good.

I'd also add Thor love and thunder to that list, but I'm sure some of you would find some way to call it woke cause it has women in it or some crap.

Through it all, the company eschewed the traditional TV-making model. It didn’t commission pilots but instead shot entire $150 million-plus seasons of TV on the fly. It didn’t hire showrunners, but instead depended on film executives to run its series. And as Marvel does for its movies, it relied on postproduction and reshoots to fix what wasn’t working.
This explains a lot
This is 1000% the issue. Right here.

Yeah, but wasn't it funny when the staunchly Catholic Matt Murdock was made to do the walk of shame by She-Hulk writers?!?!!
Have you not met any actual "staunchly Catholic" people?

Did you actually WATCH Daredevil on Netflix?
This character wouldn't play that way. It was the same actor, but he was playing a completely different character.
Posted on 10/11/23 at 8:43 pm to SouthEasternKaiju
The question was about a staunchly Catholic Matt Murdock. Not specifically about the Matt Murdock from the original series. My statement still stands.

Just like with Picard, a lot of people checked out with Season 2 and didn't bother with Season 3 until others started talking about how good it was.
Going to need to see some numbers.
