Missouri Experience

Overall, the trip was great, but one thing in particular really irked me.
Missouri's stadium seats a little over 62,000. I'm not sure what their athletic budget is, but I have to imagine that it's lower than LSU's. I have to imagine LSU puts more money into its programs than Missouri does.
When I entered the stadium last Saturday, I was made to put on a wristband that allowed me to buy concessions. You had to wear a wristband. Otherwise, you would be turned away. What was not initially explained was that the wristband entitled its wearer to bottled water, soft drinks, popcorn, and hot dogs for free, with no limitations.
How in the hell does that work? Meanwhile, water costs $5 in Tiger Stadium, and the cost for stale popcorn or a Tiger Dog is insane.
Seems like LSU could do something similar to this for fans for at least a game or two each season and not take a great hit, especially as there seems to be fewer and fewer folks showing up for games.
Just disappointing that it feels like LSU nickels and dimes fans to death while other fans are shown some appreciation for attending games.

LSU's concessions are horrendous. The Superdome is known for having shitty concessions and still blows TS out the water.

Honestly, that's kind of dumb on their part. At least sell concessions for charity or something. Free water, pop and hot dogs does not entice me to go anywhere...

The trip WAS great, I agree.
But it was obvious football is not as important to them as us.
It's also obvious that their system would NEVER work in fricking Tiger Stadium. They'd come away with a net loss.

** out of *****, was just ok. Not going back. Glad LSU pulled it out.

Imagine the lines in TS if all that crap was free. Even middle schools sell concessions, that’s just weird

I was there and saw no one with a wristband in the LSU section I sat. It was a great experience. Most of the noise was piped in as opposed to actual fans. The MIZ ZOU chant gets really old quick but I am sure other fanbases would have a similar complaint about LSU fans. The Stadium is nice but small compared to Tiger Stadium. Honestly there is no comparison with this fan base or stadium. If you don't like LSU concessions, I understand, but its absurd to think LSU fans are all going to get a bracelet at the entrance, that they will get in a concession line to get free stuff.

I’d say the most costly food in the world is a “free” hotdog. You will pay.

But seriously - one LSU fan came back with literally 15 dogs and was passing them out like a vendor.
The crowd sounds louder on TV I think, but it seemed REALLY sedate during the game - and they were 5-0! I commented that I would hate to see how quiet they got if they won the national title. Just seemed like they didn't care all that much.

What section were you in? I was in the lower bowl on the LSU side on the south side. I was never given a wristband. I was impressed that the waters were only $2.
My experience there was that the people were very nice (first road trip where literally nobody said a bad thing to me), CoMo was a nice little town, and the weather was great. There wasn't much else that was memorable or stood out.

MIZZOU was awesome. Really great fans who were very welcoming and gracious before and after the game.
Still amazed at "the bracelet" which got your free hotdogs, soft drinks, popcorn. They ran out of hotdogs several times but kept bringing up more each time. Not sure how they finance that.
Easiest travel to and from stadium. We took a free city transit shuttle from the hotel. It stopped at several hotels along the way. Dropped us off less than a block from the stadium and picked us up after the game. We were back at the hotel in less than 30 minutes. The parking garages downtown were all free parking on the weekend and the shuttles ran constantly back and forth. I realize there were only 70,000 people, but never seen anything so efficient.
THe campus was beautiful and immaculately kept. Students were walking everywhere on campus and into the downtown area which connected to the campus. Great atmosphere for a college town. CoMo was a nice little town. Scenic and so clean. Lots of walking, biking, sidewalks, green space. We never saw a sketchy part of town or homeless people.
Great trip.

Really enjoyed the trip. Was convenient to park in a garage downtown and be within walking distance of the stadium.
Only thing that confused me was the Mr Brightside song at the end of the 3rd. Any explanation for that and the “frick KU” chant? That seems like an extremely little brother kind of thing.
Experience around the stadium was subdued but figured that with an 11am kickoff. People were super nice.

LSU should look into incorporating some sort of food/drink passes and connect it to NIL
Donate 5K and you get a wristband that entitles you to unlimited food, snacks, drinks (non alcoholic) etc..

The wristbands were for the upper deck only. A Mizzou fan explained they rarely get a sellout and the school was trying to motivate people to buy the upper deck tickets to get a full stadium to create a better football atmosphere. No limit to the number of drinks, hot dogs and popcorn. Hot dogs were good.
