It didn't fall, they bombed the frick out of it.

One of my reservations about emigration to Israel is that it's hard to get permits to own/carry guns. You have to have been an IDF combat arms vet to have a chance, and it's seemingly irrelevant that I've have a permit from one state or another for 20 years.

Thanks, Obama and Biden, for sending Iran billions of dollars which flow to Gaza for weapons. The ultimate goal is that Israel doesn't exist. Die in a fire for giving Iran money.

Israel giving civilians instructions on how to protect themselves.

Hamas butchers killing women, children, elderly and desecrating dead bodies.

Hmmmm, let's see, whose side shall we be on?!?! Which side should be completely eradicated?!?!

Yeah ive been busy all day, need to read through the thread and see what has happened since I went to bed early this morning.

Is it me, or has the news spigot come to a conspicous stop since the gush of news breaks from the initial attack?

Israel’s something like 12 hours ahead of us and they are likely keeping stuff close to the best until they hit Gaza.

If it is 7PM here, it is around 7AM there and this “quiet period” will have been during the middle of the night.

Lebanon is a puppet state, hasn't had a real government in decades. It's just territory where terrorists hide.

Iran is behind Hezbollah, so if Hezbollah gets involved (I think it already IS involved) then it's really a proxy war with Iran.

And that's where it all becomes apocalyptic.

Sorry to break it to you, but in today's world there is no such thing as neutrality.

Al-Jazeera claims to have talked to Iranian government officials who claimed the Supreme Ayatollah signed off on this.

If so, plausible deniability goes out the window.

Well of course there is. What an asinine statement.

I’d love to see the Iranian Parliament recreate one of the few good scenes from Star Trek Nemesis, where we see the Romulus parliament in session.

It's their dream almost coming true!

Here's hoping it becomes their nightmare.

I'm sorry Jen but you are simply unfamiliar with Iranian budgeting practices and how the Iranian regime and Hamas make decisions.

1. Iran normally has to allocate its limited foreign exchange reserves for food/medicine months in advance to facilitate trade flows. Not anymore.

quote:

2. Iran can now devote $6 billion of its unrestricted funds toward financial, operational, and logistical support for terror proxies including Hamas.

And it will do so through the Central Bank of Iran, which received a sanctions waiver last month as part of the hostage deal.

quote:

3. According to Iranian lawmakers, they planned to use the $6 billion to backfill internal accounting debts to the Central Bank of Iran, which is sanctioned by the U.S. for their support of Iranian terrorism and support for Hamas.

https://www.iranintl.com/en/202309159160

quote:

4. According to US Treasury sanctions across administrations, Hamas receives tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars directly from Iran through the IRGC.

The $6 billion payment freed up huge reserves to ensure that Iran could continue this support.

quote:

5. Iranian and Hamas decisions about whether to embark on a war depend on their perceptions of whether they can sustain such operations.

Between the $6 billion infuse to cover future domestic needs, and the tens of billions of dollars in extra oil income, the answer was easy.

quote:

6. Secondly, as I've written about repeatedly, the notion this $6 billion will even go for the humanitarian needs of the Iranian people is contradicted by a stream of evidence.

Ex. In 2019, 19 Iranian trucks of medicine were confiscated as they were heading for black markets.

quote:

In fact, in 2020, Iran's Health Minister complained that there was “a highly complicated network” within the government responsible for systemic corruption and theft of medicine and medical goods.

They may buy medicine, but it'll go to the IRGC and Hamas.

https://www.fdd.org/analysis/2020/10/14/corruption-causing-medicine-shortages-in-iran/

quote:

7. Congressional sources tell me the administration cannot answer basic questions about the $6 billion payment, such as whether there is any ability for end-use monitoring of the food/medicine allegedly bought.

Moreover, Iran has a long banking history of fraudulent invoicing.
8. As just one example, read this DOJ indictment against Halbank, a Turkish bank that facilitated "humanitarian" trade with Iran.

So please, don't take the administration's claims at face value. They are talking points without a grounding in truth.

quote:

In the words of Iran's President Raisi: “Humanitarian means whatever the Iranian people needs, so this money will be budgeted for those needs.”

Iran is on the 34-nation Financial Action Task Force's blacklist for lack of financial transparency.

quote:

In 2020, one senior Iranian leader confirmed they didn't want to even get off the blacklist, saying: "All [of Iran's] transactions and financial transfers are being carried out in a hidden manner..."

quote:

The reality is Iran knew it was going to get this $6 billion in September months ago - it added enormous stability to their currency markets and ensured they had fiscal space.

Iran trains, equips, and directs Hamas activities. The $6B was a green light to approve this operation.

Israel being attacked

Something I always think about when shite like today happens -

Israel is smaller than the county I live in landmass-wise. Maricopa County is about 10% bigger than Israel.

I'm originally from Rapid City, SD - heart of the Black Hills. Israel is the same size as the Black Hills, which is only about 10% of South Dakota.

So imagine how intense all of this is on the ground. All these attacks are happening in a postage stamp sized country.

Germany today is not what it used to be. These days, the spawn of Merkel will apologize for their countrywoman standing in front of them.

Germany doesn’t care about a tattooed civilian killed by terrorists.

Trump had to shame them into upping their NATO spending percentage.

They’re still buying Russian oil/gas when they can. And they’ve contributed far less to Ukraine than we have.

The German government MIGHT issue a strongly worded statement, then retreat. How many Muslim immigrants (essentially all military age men) have flooded into Germany?

I truly think that it's impossible for us to imagine! Every Israeli (except the dumb arse ultra religious citizens) has to undergo military training. Every Israeli has a gas mask. Every Israeli has to live with the reality that, at any moment, they can die from a suicide bomber. And so on!

It's a reality unlike any other and yet they have managed to create an amazing country!
