Craiyon.com is meh at best. Took a long time, the site is computer AIDS with the ads, and this is the only one of the 9 it drew that got within the ballpark on the face.

Bob ross painting nose art on a fighter plane. The horse must be the mustang, as I didn't tell the AI to have him paint whores.

Freeaiimage.com doesn't even work. Just keeps kicking an API provider error.

Artimator.ai doesn't know what a flat bill cap is or the difference between Sonic fast food and Sonic the hedgehog.

Perchance.org did a good job with the first pass.

I’ve used Bing image creator a bit - one question: why does it do such an awful job with the English language in logos/branding/etc?

Most diffusion-based AI image generators are awful at creating text, for whatever reason. They’re getting better, but slowly (relative to their overall performance).

Without getting into the hairy details, the denoising process used by diffusion models just isn’t really suited to creating text.

This stuff is still in its infancy. Powerful stuff will come along and Bing's elevator music version will be left to romper room.

The AI sites are batting .000 on some prompts.

Perchance did a good job with the previous request but it needs to learn the definitions of "trashy", "baw", "flat bill", and "fighting".

No site was able to get Pickett's charge right. Incorrect terrain, incorrect uniforms, and in some cases teenage girls as soldiers

I also tried Nick Saban wearing jean shorts and riding an elephant at Buccee's (idea earlier in the thread). Perchance got the closest. Face still isn't right and Buccee's is way off.

Apparently you either can't make the instructions too complex or they all have a limited knowledge base.

This photo means you won't see Darth Vader kicking a General into the pit at Sparta.

Conclusion for this evening: The two best alternatives to Bing are perchance.org and hotpot.ai with the biggest disadvantage of both being you can't hotlink. The latter seems to be less accurate - I requested a Brooklyn Dodgers-NY Giants game at Ebbetts Field and got Yankee Stadium.

This thread is a lot of fun. I'll see if I can make a few more photos tomorrow.

accurate, photoreal Martin B-26 Marauder flying with clouds in sky

(My father's favorite aircraft to fly in WWII) Ai has a spot of trouble adding engines, proper tail and such.

I tried a number of different people as a clown (particularly Roger Goodell) and got rejected, so I went with "Bozo the clown sitting in a hospital bed staring into the hallway at a jukebox". This was the best of the 4 I thought.

Even something as mundane as Greek Statue of Overweight American in Marble is a violation lol.

Try and go around it with slightly more vague but but equally descriptive language.
