No he is allowing, out of "pastoral care", the blessing of gay couples. You know, because pastoral care sees to it that how people feel here on earth is more important than what happens to their eternal soul.

I’m conflicted on this. He’s not saying the church can now marry gay couples but what’s wrong with blessing them? There’s a difference between marrying them in the church and simply praying for their love to remain strong.

I was a devout Catholic. not anymore. really put a dent in my faith. the Monsignor at the church I attend called me about not going to mass. told him I don't agree with the Phaggotry being allowed by the Pope. said he can go ahead and excommunicate me. denounce my baptism and communion rites.
these people are making a mockery of our beliefs, the LGBBQ are getting ballsy because of the failure of conservatism.

if the roman catholic church ever falls into the trap all these other churches have by OPENLY ORDAINING HOMOSEXUAL pastors and priests AND marrying HOMOSEXUAL couples the shite WILL HIT THE FAN

nothing official has happened. show me where he is now allowing figs to be married and ordained like the EPISCOPALIANS/ANGLICANS, NORTHERN BAPTISTS, LUTHERANS, PRESBYTERIANS, etc. I believe methodists are about to allow it also and thus the church splitting like the presbyterians.

Does the Church have the power to give the blessing to unions of persons of the same sex?

Negative.
