Rewatched this with oldest boy tonight. Have to say it didnt hold up as well as I thought it would have. Great list of actors but the 1990 production was cumbersome. Dialogue not so great in some parts as well. Still a great movie and Harry Connick Jr. with a hand painted Confederate Flag on his cap was something I had forgotten but glad to see.

I like Memphis Belle a story about a bunch of sweaty men all huddled up together in that tight cockpit.

That's because you didn't refer to it as "Mim-phiss Bay-elle".

Amazing Stories - The Mission 1985
Terrible, terrible story. Amazing Stories had such a huge build-up and it landed with a thud.

Memphis Belle a good world war ii movie. The cast is hard to beat. Memphis Belle is not the best movie, but certainly an above average quality production.

IT seems to have gone off the radar screen. I'm sure the hollywood strikes have paused it.

It's hard for that movie to not feel canned, after the WWII movies and mini-series that hit the box office in the late '90s and early 00's.
A gritty remake is long over due.

Without watching it, is this the one with the cartoon landing gear that miraculously saves them?

Agreed. Amazing Stories was pretty much a dud.
