Can’t be or else his privacy wouldn’t have been violated.
I guess he’s suggesting the data was hacked from somewhere and the laptop was just a Trojan horse to explain how Giuliani got it?
Either way, Hunter isn’t disputing that the content that was put out there is real from what I’ve seen.

Computer fraud and abuse. Basically accessing and disseminating someone's private information stored in digital format.
The "laptop" part is irrelevant. It was external drive, which Rudy has already said publicly.

He’s technically correct…no one but the store owner, and maybe the FBI, had a laptop…after that all of the information is stored on an external.
