I assumed as such, but if you’re in the business of making airplane parts that are regulated, I would think it’s shortsighted to have to mindset of forging documents and trying to circumvent the regulations.

Wait, Donnie Darko died?? I’m so confused. I’ve watched that movie many times and still can’t wrap my head around it.

Great news, I’ll be on both the A320 and 737 this Saturday.

United has 466 737s alone. Split bad parts across four airlines, on the arguably most popular plane in the world... Not concerned.

24 of the United 737s are currently parked for one reason or another. The worst that will happen is that you'll get moved from one gauge 737 to another (177 seat 737-900 to a a 149 seat 737-700, etc.), or to an RJ.

Check your seat assignments now, do not wait on the airline to do it for you.

It's been a long time since I've seen it but that was his decision, wasn't it?

They weren't in it for the long term.

That’s fine unless you're customer #150.

If the parts are fine, why were they forging certification documents?

They aren't fine...they are counterfeit. It is a HUGE problem in most industries, particularly egregious in the aerospace industry though because the damage to public confidence is extremely damaging.

I deal with it in the construction industry...electrical equipment is notorious for it. I have seen counterfeits shipped directly from manufacturers like Square D and Siemens factories. Direct from the factory. That means that someone in the factory introduced counterfeit items into the supply chain. Ponder that for a moment. It is rampant in the electrical industry and in the hardware (nuts and bolts) insudustry.

You can almost rest assured that about half the electrical equipment sold at big box stores is counterfeit. 1/3. It is completely out of control and has been for several years at least.

Probably have executed those involved who did such a lousy job that the fakes were identified...

I remember something about this in the '80's with landing gear parts. There should be a source for those decisions, but our current fed government is so inept that it will be a non-issue.

Probably fine? You gonna get on an aircraft cobbled together with a bunch of parts some outfit says is “probably fine”?

“It will be fine” has put some aircraft nose down into the ground at full speed.
