Good thing they traded a haul to get themselves a franchise QB.

That’s one way to put “Good thing they are getting first overall this season.”

Unless the Vikes continue to suck.

Don’t forget about the Panthers and their elite Bama Heisman QB…. It will be battle for first pick next weekend with Vikings @ Panthers, except Carolina traded theirs to Chicago (I hate being a panthers fan….).

Wouldn't put it past Payton to trade up from the No. 1 overall pick, giving up a future first-rounder in the process. Dumbass.

????

Wonder what it costs to move from #1 to #0?

I have to think McDaniel did a solid to Fangio, who has no love lost with Denver.

He made rash decision taking it when he clearly wanted the Chargers job. Basically just went with the biggest payday even though it was a messed up situation with Russ declining.

I never understood why a seemingly smart guy like Sean Payton wanted any part of that Russell Wilson contract.

1. Bears - Caleb Williams
2. Broncos - Drake Maye
3. Vikings - Shedeur Sanders
4. Cardinals - Man, we couldn't even tank right.

The NFL has 100% complete creative control. They can literally script anything. The more dramatic and unbelievable the better.

They still have Kyler. They have a ton of picks to rebuild the roster. The WR and tackle class next year is stacked.

Does the Broncos owner lose the franchise after striking out with Wilson, Hackett, and Payton?

Don’t forget that McDaniel has a bad taste in his mouth about Denver, as well. He was their ball boy growing up, grew up a fan, and Denver was his first job under Mike Shanahan. He then coached under Gary Kubiak in Houston, reunited with Mike Shanahan in Washington and coached under Kyle Shanahan in San Fran. He has a ton of ties to the most successful regime Denver has ever had.

I say all of that to also say he was never given a chance to even interview with Denver when they hired Vic Fangio.

You better believe he’s salty.

They’d definitely take a QB

They have the Texans pick too, who surprisingly might not suck. And they might not suck enough.

Poor Cardinal fans. Going from hoping for the 1-2 picks to like 6 and 9

Payton is a guy who might have just landed in the perfect situation with HOF QB Brees in his prime and a pretty nicely stacked roster. Even then, he managed to frick up the Saints seasons again and again.

With a depleted Broncos roster and over the hill Wilson he might end up ruining his legacy as a coaching savant the same way Gruden did when he finally got coaxed out of retirement.
