Well, considering the package was still on his front porch and he hadn’t retrieved it, you can argue that the stop wasn’t supported by reasonable suspicion and, therefore, telling him to step out of the vehicle wasn’t a lawful order.

I guess you could argue it, but if I'm on the jury, I'm not buying.

quote:

This dude was just living his life, had no idea there even was a package or why he was stopped, then ordered to step out of the vehicle surrounded by multiple cops heavily armed. Many people would be stunned and want to know why they were being stopped under those circumstances.

Intelligent people would comply, knowing that the cops aren't there to litigate the case on the side of the road. Getting arrested doesn't mean you are guilty, and you can only prove your innocence in court.

quote:

THEN, they continued to detain him after discovering that the package was still on his porch and they had no reason to stop him.

So there is no law backing up the arrest? I'm assuming it is illegal to have pot shipped to you.

Lackluster is a veteran. He's done more for this country than you have. He's an actual conservative that believes in strict adherence to the Constitution. You want a police state.

Cops did bad things and then got "Fired, Arrested, and Sued," And you’re whining?
Are you suggesting that it's ok that this happened in the first place?
He neither said nor suggested anything like that.

His point seems to be that you totally ignore the timely and appropriate response of the police department to the misconduct of the lead officer.

But it is definitely appropriate to ask why the department apparently did not do much of anything to the dozens of other officers involved in this incident.

At some point, an officer with integrity had an obligation to say "Guys, we got this wrong. Let's apologize to this gentleman and be on our way." That did not happen.

Y'all are so dumb with this "blind link" nonsense.
I have often wondered why people make such a fuss over a "blind link." You need only hover your cursor to see exactly where the link leads.

At the same time, some Cliffs Notes on a 20 minute video would always be courteous.

I browse this website primarily on my phone, and don’t want to catch phone aids or accidently visit a tranny porn site. How hard is it to describe what is included in the link?

“Here’s the link to the YouTube video showing the footage of the arrest.”

It ain’t hard.

Is this where The Rock makes a deal with the DA and works undercover to free his son from jail?

Most cops don’t know anything about law or due process. It’s just “follow my orders”.
A smart cop will know how to approach this situation before even arriving.

Why are they trying to sting someone for some pot anyway? The "drug war" is such a joke. Wasting taxpayers money.

Are you saying the cops should be arrested for illegally shipping weed?

The "drug war" is such A ROUSING SUCCESS — IT HAS CONDITIONED GENERATIONS OF ALLEGED SUPPORTERS OF LIMITED GOVERNMENT TO CHEER ON THE MILITARIZED POLICE STATE THAT AS A MATTER OF COURSE RUNS ROUGH-SHOD OVER THE NATURAL RIGHTS OF CITIZENS.

FIFY!

Please don't post links to fricking 20 minute youtube videos without giving a description. Some of us want to participate in your thread, but don't want to watch 20 minute videos to do so.

At the very least, give people enougf info to make them WANT to watch the 20 fricking minute video

This has been a Public Service Announcement brought to you by the fine people at You-aren't-important-enough-to-me-to-give-you-20-minutes-of-my-life-based-on-a-vague-arse-thread-title, llc

The poor deluded fools around here still don't get that. Even after witnessing how cops behaved during covid.
