They have no natural talent pool.
Very academic school
Not exactly in diverse area
And yet they’ve built a good program and even after down years they seem to come back.

They have an elite head coach, elite coordinators, and pulled a a top 3 QB out of purgatory at IU.

The Seattle area has actually been pumping out some elite talent lately

They score more points than the other team

It’s located in the 13th largest metropolitan area in the country located in the 13th most populated state. There is a natural talent pool, but not enough to sustain four P5 schools in the area, but luckily California is near by and they have way more talent available than local schools there need.

There’s more talent in that state than most realize. Two 5 stars on Ohio State’s roster - DE Tuimaloa and WR Egbuka - are from Seattle and likely 1st rounders.

It’s a great place to live with the perks of a large metro area. Although the Seahawks are there as a state there’s a higher emphasis on college sports. There’s a sizable alumni crowd and they’ve got enough history to support a casual following.

Now we know why Ryan Grubb turned down the Bama OC job.

Why do we have such idiots on this board.

Major metro
Decent facilities
Former national champs
Have first pick of the pool in state and can poach along the coast
Just add in a competent coach and it isn't that difficult to put together a competitive team. All of the ingredients are there.

In the Pac, it just means more

WTF, this is a horrible post! The Seattle/Tacoma area is one of the most diverse metro areas in the country with a long history of producing elite athletes in many sports.
Athletic talent, its not metro Atlanta, Dallas, Houston or LA, but it's not Lincoln, NE either.

I’m not sure about this. Besides 2016 (which was one of the worst playoff teams in the CFP era) what have they really done this century? They just happened to hit on an elite QB and some good coaches recently.
Now if you said, “How does Utah do it?” it would make more sense imo.

Gee, a school with a $6 billion endowment with 50K students in a world class city?
The question is why don't they do it more often and more consistently.

Great coach, amazing receivers and they hit a bullseye with Penix. He was a risk at the time because he couldn't stay healthy at IU, but no issues so far.
