these geniuses really do want to make everyone poor. or dead.

Letters to the Editor: Instead of subsidizing EVs, put a surcharge on all gas cars

Rather than thinking in terms of EV subsidies, we should be imposing a surcharge on the purchase of gasoline-powered vehicles to pay for the environmental damage they will do over their lifespan. The proceeds could be used to improve charging infrastructure, or to continue to subsidize low-income EV purchasers, as the state's new program does.

Such a surcharge could eliminate the price difference between EVs and gas-powered cars at no cost to taxpayers

Read the other day there’s a real fear amongst engineers around the weight of all these new EVs and the potential for parking garage collapses.

The government is always scheming. So greedy. Not only do they get to print their own money they get to legally steal it and come up with new ways of stealing it. Very greedy.

Always. The green energy and climate change hoaxes are fertile ground for an endless supply of hiked fees and surcharges.
Very sustainable frickery.

This is the kind of thing you propose when elections are just a big show.

not to mention the wear and tear on light-duty parking lots (that are typically compacted sand/clay with 1-1/2" of wearing surface)

Yeah, tell you what. Just drill the oil and quit drumming up nonsense to occupy your little brain and making life exceedingly more difficult for people to live their lives? How about that instead?

When people who have owned EVs for 8 or 9 years go to trade them in and the gas version of the vehicle is worth $15,000 and the Electric version is worth $900 sales of EVs will plummet because most people will only buy one in a lifetime.

Honest question, do we need to adopt EVs any more quickly than we already are?

More proof ^^ the ideological divide between MAGA/America First and the cultural Marxists/Dims/Groomers is unbridgeable.
