Hollywood does a terrible job of portraying bullies in school

They always show the jocks or popular kids bullying some misfit kid, but in my experience as an educator that type of behavior is beneath those type of kids, not to mention kids who have the discipline and work ethic to rise to the top in academics and athletics tend to be the most well behaved kids as well. The bully’s tend to be middle of the pack losers who will amount to little in life, who put down those who happen to be developmentally or physically challenged, or the poor kids, something that is completely out of those kids control, but makes the loser feel better about themselves.

At least make some attempt to mask it. Proper trolling is a lost art form.

The “bullies” are the (fringe) friends of the popular kids. People confuse that for being “popular”.
The thing is, the kids who get bullied are asking for it / deserve it most of the time.

Jocks and popular kids most certainly bully the less popular kids in some instances.
But outcast, fringe types bully as well.
I've seen both portrayed in Hollywood plenty.

The movies tells me the educator is usually pretty bad at knowing who the bullies are. So WTF do you know?

I was a “jock and popular” kid in school, the only fights (trashy,) I ever got in were taking up for bullied kids

For generations Bully-Americans taught schoolchildren that most valuable of lessons. Either blend in or learn how to fight.
