There is a competing tension IMHO. The tension between those on the Left who have dangerous Marxist pretensions to seize the time and labor or others and those on The Right who build these myths of the “ indispensable public company man” who should be exalted.
Bottom line, when people of different socioeconomic classes actively run into each other and live amongst each other , society is more stable. When we divide into a society of peons and Super Men Of The Universe, we are weakened.
This applies even more to our untouchable political class that have immunized themselves from any of the consequences of the laws they pass and the bureaucracies they use to keep Normals in line. CEO compensation is small potatoes compare to that dangerous elite club that has consolidated power to our detriment.

Breaking news. CEO of company makes more money than regular employees.
Well, GM has received over $50 billion in govt bailout money. One of the largest welfare queens we have right now

I've got three personal, life long friends that are, or have retired as CEOs of huge companies, two publicly traded, one private, if anyone knew the dirt I have on them they might not have been hired to sweep floors, they are just as normal as you and I, just very good at delegating

Well for a company the size of GM the CEO pay is nearly irrelevant to the other employees compensation. GM employs 46,000 UAW workers. If she were paid $0 that would only make an extra $630 available to those 46,000 employees.
To give them a 5% raise would cost $145M.

True enough. But there’s always going to be income inequality in any system.
Of course, but too much wealth is tied up at the top 1% right now. Saying there will always be inequality as an excuse to have this much inequality in society is turning a blind eye.

This is a two way street. The ceo has the right to make this much and the employees have the right to demand more pay. Capitalism at work, but some on here have some sort of weird hatred for the average working american wanting to get a piece of the multi billion dollar pie too. It's mind boggling.

Benefits are not included in that number. They actually do make more.
Meanwhile the benefits are in the CEO’s… including performance benchmark bonuses that may or may not be met.

Salary doesn't mean shite. Dude is probably making 5x that in stock options and other fringe.
If you look at total compensation of execs vs average workers over the past 100 years, the rate of increasing disparity is insane.

Dodge ceo makes 24 million a year.
Average uaw worker makes about 67k a year.
You seem like someone that bitches about their job constantly, doesn't put in any extra effort, and just expects a huge paycheck for showing up. I could be way off. But this is the person you sound like.

It's not a battle of Left vs. Right. It's a battle between the rich and poor perpetuated by government officials who have nothing else to do but seek reelection.
Even though I think Bernie Sanders is a little wild with his philosophy, at least I respect him enough to know that his ideas are his own and he pursues what he believes to be the best interest of Americans, not whoever is in his pockets.

I mean, that alone should basically make us all want to throw rotten produce at all involved in that State to Industry greasing of the palms. At this point , America is just an absurdity of the Elites vs the taxpayer. Nothing they do does anything but perpetuate the Leviathan they have created.

CEOs shouldn’t make 432 times what the average company workers make!

According to who? Where is this shortage of money you seem to be referring to?

You’re serious with this shite? Bernie has been in Congress since 1991. Yet somehow his net worth is 15 million and he owns 10 properties across the east coast. A real man of the people I tell ya
