I am incredibly biased against the homeless. I had a knife pulled on me by one of those pieces of shite, and the cops basically shrugged when I reported it.

It’s “unhoused”, shitlord, and you should have been honored

One of the most terrifying moments of my life honestly. Two of them kind of stalked behind a buddy and I when we were walking on the levee by the USS Kid. Fight or flight is real, I lost it and started screaming at them and they eventually ran away.

Sometimes you wanna go where every druggie knows your name.

If I tried this I would be in jail
But if you are homeless anything goes. Prostitution, illegal bars, IV drug use. All cool.

I’ll bet that tent smells like crawfish shells left in the heat for four days…..

Denver has lost its way ever since they legalized weed.

We had a historical standing of long term locked care facilities in the US and one of the better mental health laws. Then the 80's got rid of both.
Many current homeless are folks who used to be in these facilities. Like many political "hot potatoes" we do something in the short term and it bites us in the backside in the long term.
Mental health care by police is an abject failure and costs at least 8 times the cost of the old system. Many homeless are self medicating with drugs and alcohol which just throws fuel on the fire.
I knew Henry Earl personally for many years. They used to call him James Brown as he danced better than the actual entertainer. In the past he probably winds up for life in Eastern State but that facility was demolished to make a new satellite campus for the spin off from University of Kentucky for I think a 2 year feeder community college.

Best they can do is a 24 - 72 hour hold and most of these folks become more hostile after jail than before. The cops are very aware that mental health care by police does not work and taxes the resources of the force.
