My family is trying to drag me onto a Viking Mediterranean cruise. How is the trash level there? I’ve never been on a cruise and have no idea what to expect

You should probably sit this one out for everyone involved.

Agreed. Just stay home and let your family enjoy themselves without the negativity you're bringing from the jump.
If you're looking for people to change your mind, it's already too late.

Baws, like I said I have no experience with cruises have no clue what to expect. Just don’t want to experience something as trashy as a carnival. Sure it’ll be nice just wanted yalls opinion

Considering that a Viking Cruise starts at $2,700.00 without airfare to get there, I would think it cuts down on the trashy compared to a Carnival cruise that starts at about $200.00. I've never been on a Viking Cruise, but my old man and stepmother went on one last year. They also usually do a Carnival cruise every year. They said the Viking was miles away better than Carnival. The food, the sights, and the people were much nicer. It seemed like it was a much older crowd than Carnival.

How do you know Carnival is trashy if you have no experience or clue?

My boss took his wife to the Rhine for 10 days. Private butler, one up the better rooms. It cost him $16k with airfare and two day extension excursion.

Do you not know how to use Google? Viking river cruises are some of the best in the world and they recently started doing ocean cruises. Clientele is generally older and wealthy.
My parents did a Danube cruise with them a few years ago and are doing their ocean cruise this winter.

Have you ever seen an advertisement for this cruise line, ever even been on their website, maybe watched a youtube video on it?
If you had done maybe ONE of those things...we wouldn't have this thread....

Me and my girl are doing the Christmas one next Winter. We are both in our late 20s/early 30s.
I have often been warned that we will be the youngest by far. However, that will not stop us from having a good time. We want to see Europe without having the headache of planning different hotels, researching each city, and everything else that comes with planning an entire Europe trip.
What I have found, is that Viking is very much tailored to retired and wealthy folks. So I cannot imagine them being classified as "trashy." The cost for both of is just shy of 10k. There are not many trashy people that can afford that. Or if the trashy people can afford that, they are likely not looking into Viking haha. I would imagine they would spend that 10k on 3-4 cruises on Carnival or Royal Caribbean.

You read the OT too much. Viking is not a trashy cruise line as are very few cruise lines.

It depends. Will you be wearing flip flops?

You don't need to worry about that. Children are not allowed on Viking cruises so your parents won't be able to get you on board.

Never been on one, but they advertise heavily on PBS and on shows like Downton Abbey. I’m guessing it’s an older, upper crust crowd.

On the trashy cruise meter, Viking is on the opposite end from the worst ones.

The rest of the passengers will be so grateful you did not join them.
