I hate political stuff on this board, but to the OP, who wants to accuse “wokeism” as a culprit here, Tucker’s conduct, which is unacceptable for a coach, is less egregious than D. Trump’s, who wants to lead the entire nation.

I'm a liberal af Democrat- sorry not sorry - and my publicly stated position at the time Mel Tucker was getting a lot of attention as a possible HC candidate was that "highly regarded for being a black HC" was NOT a qualifier; LSU needed "highly regarded for being a great HC"...
"Politically correct" and "affirmative action" do hold some merit in many situations, but GTFOOH with that crap when it comes to hiring a football coach!
