In 2022, the US saw the largest annual increase in electricity spending on record.

The average US monthly electricity bill is now ~$140.

Meanwhile, gas prices are 31% above the 5-year average and quickly approaching $4.00.

Basic utilities are becoming unaffordable

Direct correlation to inflation and oil prices

By design too. Raise energy prices along with rates and the rich are able to buy up swaths of property for pennies on the dollar from the poor and “middle class”

This was an old campaign promise of Obama's.

And since we are in Obama's third term, well there it is.

Well no shite.

When you drive up the cost of oil, coal, and natural gas (things used to make electricity) as well as labor then the prices of electricity will go up.

This is like raising the costs of beef, and bread and then being shocked the cost of hamburgers go up.

The government’s goal is to force Americans to use less electricity by raising prices to lower carbon emissions.

The rich democrats don’t care how much electricity costs.

The poor democrats will get government subsidies to pay for their electricity.

The middle-class Republicans will sit in hot houses because we can’t afford to run our air conditioning.

This is all intentional.

Yeah my delivery charge just increased 50%. That’s insane. Nothing you can do about it as it’s a utility monopoly

The only thing you can do is vote for the people who regulate the rates.

But, the regulators can't set the rates at or below cost or the industry would collapse and no one would have power.

So cost is always the key driver and they are going up.

And climate change is still (supposedly) the most dangerous existential threat on earth. After white supremacy of course.

I’m curious to know where the increases are at. My bill hasn’t noticeably changed and I don’t have solar.

But the electric companies don’t mind spending many millions of pointless advertising and donating multi millions to shady charities

But inflation is only 7% or whatever bs the government is feeding us.

Liberals should be subsidizing the middle class.

Gots ta give 'em some credit. They spend billions telling us how to conserve energy so we can afford their annual increases.

We are the frogs in their pot of water that keeps getting warmer!!

Meanwhile, in NY the dems just approved very large rate hikes with the demand that the money go to solar and wind power all the while pushing for more eclectic power usage instead of gas.
