Far less addicts and ne'er do wells than Louisiana.

Louisiana sucks so you moved to fricking Juneau Alaska?

And I thought Alaska had a high suicide rate as well as a lot of addicts? The no day light winters are known to cause depression which in turn causes people to kill themselves, etc.

No one moves to Alaska just because they think Louisiana sucks. There are a lot of places in between the two states one can pick to live if they hate Louisiana.

My brother in law is there. I talked to him last night.
He says it’s not that bad at all. He is still partying. It’s a mess , but they are just dealing with it.
Goes to show you how the media twist things up for clicks / ratings.

Not in Southeast. Way too expensive for them to live here. People don't "escape" to Juneau

Anchorage and the Valley are where the Junkies go.

Correct, they could easily move to Texas and be fine. I was torn between AK and CO, glad I chose AK.

I guess I’m failing to see how a flood at a festival in the desert constitutes a “national emergency.”

You don’t know everyone’s story. I don’t think Louisiana sucks. But my lived experience is different than Rodgers. I’ve never been to Alaska. But it seems like a pretty cool place to me.

Joe Biden just promised $700.00 to every family affected by this national disaster.

Never really cared to learn about the festival til now. After watching a 20 minute YouTube video I gotta admit it sounds like something i need to add to my bucket list. Not into all the costume stuff but there’re plenty of other WTF? things to make it worth a visit.

My biggest fear would be widespread BO. Thousands of people in the desert, many not bathing.

Hardly a “nation emergency”. Imagine if those cops wouldn’t have rammed those hippies protesting, many lives would have been saved.

Where did you live in Louisiana?

I’ve been to Alaska twice,Juneau,Fairbanks,Anchorage,Talkeetna,Ketchikan. My favorite places were Seward,Denali and Ketchikan.

Don’t think I’d want to live there year round.Ideal situation would be spend 6 months there and winter back here.

I read Karl Malone (The Mailman) does that,Alaska in the summer,Ruston in the winter.
I met a shuttle bus driver there that was from Mamou, been in Alaska 20 years and loved it.

It really is a beautiful state, the scenery is stupendous. My next trip will be to Glaciar Bay Halibut fishing.

horseshite and had we known it was a mud festival 100,000 rednecks would have shown up and be driving shite all over the place.

Minivans, RV's, and small cars are stuck, you know the very vehicles one needs for heading out into the desert during monsoon season, cheap life lesson some of them need to learn about preparation if they are going to venture outside suburbia again.

Burners, especially veteran Burners are remarkably well prepared. It also isn't the monsoon season, that is winter and spring. BM usually doesn't see more than maybe a 30-minute shower. The biggest issue is dust/wind and freezing temps at night.
