Is professional bull riding the toughest sport?

Strapping yourself to a 1,500+ pound animal that does not want you there seems nuts to me.

It's more of a psychotic adrenaline junkie sport than anything. Most of those guys smoke and drink and party and live life hard and fast.
Try doing that as a professional fighter.

I would say wrestling "Not the fake stuff with a roped ring" , UFC and boxing from the conditioning it takes.
Not a putdown on bull riders that takes a lot of athletic ability too.

I rode one of those once. Stayed on for 8 seconds but the next morning I found a bruise on my inner thigh and realized how close I came to being a falsetto.
I'm guessing bull riding is the one sport where you don't have sons of past greats.

I was up in Durango, Co. back in 2000 attending a biker rally and one of the attractions was amateur bull riding open to anyone.
Well, there were a dozen or so bikers that thought it a good idea to hop on a bull's back and try their luck.
They had NONE. Not one rider made it much past the gates when they opened and I can remember 2 of them being carted off in an ambulance. Most just got tossed aside like a red headed stepchild and limped out the arena.
Funny as shite while it lasted.

It is the toughest. Riding bulls means you will end up in the hospital at some point. And probably multiple times, so you better be tough to get a broken leg, or a lacerated spleen /liver and get back on after that.

I let some bull riders have a straw hat to keep from having to ride a bull one day. Went out to an arena with a buddy who rode them. They told me I had put a bull rider's shape to my hat and the only way I could keep it was to ride a bull.
