Anyone else having ants get into the house? I’ve never had this problem before and I sprayed the exterior of my house about a month ago. I’ll spray inside today. I keep up with pest control throughout the year, but this is ridiculous . I’m assuming it’s got something to do with being so dry. I

Yeah, in my kitchen where my dogs food is
Also walked into my parents & they were in their kitchen
I found one of those pest repellers that uses high pitched sound I had years ago at an apt, plugged it in where they were coming in & haven’t had any since

Spraying for ants is a never ending job once they are inside. You need to bait them so they take the poison back to the nest and it wipes them all out.

It takes a little longer, and you dont want to do anything to them while they are taking the bait. Then in a few days they will all be gone

Daily walk around your home and look for ant trails that maybe entering your home.
Spray around the exterior of your home. Also broadcast some granuales roughly 6 to 8' wide around your home.

We get them at the camp when it gets really dry like this (or really wet).

Advion Ant works REALLY well. I bought a pack of 4 syringes about 12 years ago and have used it maybe 10 times and haven't used half of the first syringe. Now they sell the single syringes. I just put a pea-sized blob on a piece thin cardboard and set it right in the path of one of their trails. When I come back the next day they have actually chewed into the cardboard to get every last drop. and I don't see any more ants.

The key with Advion and I assume all gel baits is they take it back to the nest and it ultimately kills them all. I think I read it is because ants eat their dead.

I’ve had good results with the Terro liquid ant baits.

The toughest part for me about using them is resisting the urge to leave the ants that swarm the bait alone.

3 pronged approach:

-Ant bait gel inside house. Once they are inside you have to bait them.
-Suspend SC in interior perimeter and exterior perimeter windows and doors.
-Talstar Granules in yard.

They are after the moisture.

Another vote for Advion ant bait, both the granules and the gel.

We get fire ants in the house periodically...started with the Terro bait packs and they love the stuff but it wasn't killing them. Sure enough it's not labeled for fire ants.
Advion works within days killing the whole nest.

Another vote for Terro liquid ant traps. Placed about 6 traps in my kitchen back in early June and after 5-7 days, no more. Haven’t seen any since.

Do you have trees? Argentine ants are very small black ants that get in your house through the tiniest of gaps. Spraying your yard does little good. They live in your trees. You can see them there if you inspect your trees and spray.
