I just gopt 2.3:1 on an Amex to Hilton transfer. Booked three nights at a Hilton in NOVA for 31000 points a night. So 13478 Amex points a night. I think that's a solid redemption.
yes, but those are amex points that you transferred in. that's a good redemption for sure.
there's nothing wrong with hilton honors points per se, i just hate how they aren't in line with industry standards on their value. They give you way more, but are worth way less. Just make it easy on everyone and get it closer to 1 point per cent.

I travel a lot and have a Marriot Bonvoy CC and it's your best option honestly..

This is accurate. If you are staying at the exact same hotel, I guess you might be able to work a better deal somewhere. But I’m assuming it’s 2-3 nights with some change by week.

Revenue based redemptions? Gross.

i'm not talking about redemption, i'm talking about earn.

Stays are worth more than nights. If you’re going to stay for three nights somewhere and you’re willing to change hotels once or twice during that trip you’ll earn more points than if you stay at the same place for 3 nights.
You sure about that? I’m staying 2 weeks at a time at a Hilton right now for the next few months

I'm confused. If you want the points to be worth 1 cent, there's no opportunity for outsized value.
Are you saying you want that to be the floor?

Look up the different co-branded credit cards and pick what works for you.
Hilton is with Amex.
Marriott has cards with Amex and Chase.

Since we're.on the topic, Marriott sign up bonus with Chase is handing out 5 free night certs right now as the bonus.

I used this awhile back to get 5 nights in Rome, but if you are trying to use them on Europe it's REALLY hard to redeem them. It's much easier in the states, just a piece of advice.

Not to brag, but sometimes I get a complimentary bottle of water at Hampton Inn.

I've been a Marriott member for 17 years (the year I graduated OSU and started a big boy job).
I'm platinum for life now and the perks are great. I got upgraded to a sick suite when I went to San Antonio for a conference. Thing had double doors for the entrance and a back door out.
I think they are all generally the same in the US, but Marriott just has more hotels more places IMO. There are 10X as many marriott properties as Hilton properties for example. almost 6000 to almost 600. When I joined I did it because I liked them before they merged with Starwood. Once they merged they were huge and it was great. starwood had/has some very good brands like Westins and Ws which are 'cooler' spots

Ya the partner hotels game the frick out of these.
You can top off with 15,000 points to get to 65,000 points a night, so the hotels will put the room up for 67,000, and therefore you can't use the cert.

I've been Marriott for 18 years. Marriott has hotels on every continent, and in every city I've traveled to, except for Daejeon, Korea.
There has been a mini-fridge in every room I've been in in the US for the last seven or eight years.
Your experience will be very consistent. One of the reasons I stuck with them after trying out Hilton, Starwood, etc., was simple: I always got a copy of my bill via email before leaving the hotel. Starwood had me calling the night audit crew (the accounting department) in an individual hotel in NYC to get a copy of my bill in 2006/2007. F off with that, I have expense reports to submit!

It was a sad day when Marriott won the bid for Starwood.

Positive. Check in the app for your reward status. It defaults to nights but click stays to the right and it will tell you how many stays you need to the next level vs nights. If I stay for a week I make it a point to change hotels one night.
I prefer Hilton for their Concierge lounges

a lot of those fold points into each other..
Marriott also just partnered with MGM properties (not all of them.)

This.
But Marriott is the answer in general

I’m not worried about keeping Diamond bc I stay over 60 nights. It just doesn’t make sense that I would get more points for same number of nights across 2 stays just from changing hotel.
